Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting Line: Reports to the Program Manager

Job Summary

  • The M&E Officer will play a critical role in assessing the effectiveness of the company.
  • This position involves program implementation, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • The M&E Officer will also provide technical support in program execution, communication, strategy development, and report writing.

Responsibilities
Key:

  • Support the collection and analysis of data to measure program performance against established indicators.
  • Ensure accountability and optimize capacity development outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the program team in developing strategies, designing activities, creating proposals and reports, and managing financial expenditures.
  • Monitor project activities, expenditures, and progress toward achieving program outputs.
  • Develop and enhance evaluation procedures to assess impact and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and execute program activities, including training sessions, meetings, workshops, and other events, in alignment with organizational requirements and work plans.
  • Prepare regular reports providing insights into project status and recommendations for improvements.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Program Manager/Country Manager.

Specific:

  • Strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures.
  • Track all project activities, expenditures, and progress toward achieving program outputs.
  • Assess the sustainability of project results and overall progress.
  • Conduct capacity assessments of existing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the project.
  • Support the evaluation of program effects and impacts.
  • Provide feedback on project strategies and activities to the Program Manager.
  • Suggest strategies for improving program efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
  • Report progress on all activities on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
  • Recommend improvements to the logical framework.
  • Create monitoring and impact indicators for program successes.
  • Provide inputs, data, and statistics for quarterly, annual, and other reports to the Program Management Team (PMT).
  • Participate in annual project reviews, and planning workshops, and assist in preparing relevant reports.

Measurable Outputs and Performance Indicators:

  • Collaborate with program personnel to monitor and evaluate organizational performance, vendor and consultant engagement, and make recommendations for program adjustments.
  • Lead and support team projects, developing work products in collaboration with team members.
  • Maintain program files and participant contacts for monitoring and internal reporting.
  • Monitor socio-economic developments in Africa to provide relevant analysis and recommendations.
  • Mobilize program participants, media, and stakeholders for events and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in data analysis, economics, social development, international relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within nonprofit or international development sectors, preferably with a focus on women, youth, or entrepreneurs.
  • Experience with donor-funded programs related to economic empowerment, education, and capacity building.
  • Proven experience in writing reports and project proposals.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work efficiently under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in promoting sustainable economic participation of women and youth.
  • with experience in nonprofit or international development sectors
  • Proficiency in project cycle management, including project coordination, accounting, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit strategies, logical frameworks, Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), and socio-economic contexts.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Salary
N6,403,584.10 Annually (Gross).
