Job Title: Mechanical Workshop Manager

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Leads a group of various mechanics and technicians within the workshop and other sites.
  • Supervise trouble shooting and diagnostics procedure on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Record observations and findings during diagnostics run and decide on the correct method of repair, as necessary.
  • Maintain and improve service level and manage operations of workshop.
  • Ensure that warranties are properly followed up, monitored, and documented.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate the day-to-day running of the workshop. E.g., Writing work orders (Job sheet) and arranging mechanic to perform maintenance or repair work on vehicles.
  • Follow up repair order, registering the time taken to complete each task.
  • Responsible for customer service, reliability and dependability by providing all fields with the technical assistance that they require from the Workshop.
  • Hands-on supervision of all workshop activities, especially technical issues
  • Forecast and order spare parts for specific jobs/special job or for stocks replenishment as approve by Management
  • To test and confer with customers to obtain description of vehicle problems and discuss the necessary work to be performed.
  • Supervise and follow up on actual progress of each individual repair job
  • Check the activities in the workshop, inspect completed work and draft reports to detect recurrent faults.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisal of all direct subordinates
  • Ensure that the vehicle is returned to the owner in a clean condition
  • Identify and communicate any issues/concerns effecting performance or suggestions which will improve service quality to the CEO
  • Escalate concerns of condition and maintenance needs of equipment to the CEO.
  • Recommend tasks to be undertaken by external contractors, and if approved, organise that work
  • Carry out all duties and functions in a manner that promotes good teamwork and public relations
  • Conduct final check/test driving for all vehicles prior to release.
  • Assists with the Interviewing and conducts hands-on testing of technical applicants

Requirements

  • HND or OND equivalent in Mechanical / Automotive or related field.
  • Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to advise customers on the required jobs in a timely, professional manner
  • They be residing around Ikeja, ketu, Iyana Ipaja and it environments.
  • 5 years’ experience managing an automotive workshop, particularly attached to a dealership
  • Extensive Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs
  • Strong analytical, communication and inter-personal skills with administrative competence vital for this role.

Salary
N80,000 - N150,000 / month.
