Debour Nigeria Limited is a company that engages in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services, HVAC services, and design and maintenance of electrical and mechanical engineering works. They also specialize in installation and maintenance of boreholes, sewage treatment plants, piping, transformers, streetlights, plumbing, domestic gas services, industrial refrigeration, welding, and fabrication.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary

  • The Mechanical Engineer will utilize advanced engineering principles to improve existing systems, create new solutions, and troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, performing simulations, analyzing technical drawings, ensuring all products align with quality and cost requirements, and adhere to company's control guidelines throughout the project life cycle

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans (shop drawing), detail, specified, and cost extended of MEP system.
  • Review plans, specifications & manage project scope and changes according to the plan.
  • Project planning, supervision and implementation, Site supervision, technical reports
  • Analyze mechanical problems and formulate solutions.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned with and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Prepare estimates and a detailed project plan for all phases of the project and procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives within the planned timeframes.
  • Monitor staff performance, complete performance reviews, and train team members.
  • Attend site and strategy meetings on behalf of the company
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders
  • Provide onsite leadership for the team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and meeting project milestones
  • Liaising with any consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
  • Timely submission and approvals for timely procurement in line with the project specification.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • B.Tech / B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years post NYSC experience in managing MEP projects inclusive of 5 years experience on the same role
  • Experience in the MEP is a plus.
  • Good understanding and experience of current manufacturing methodologies. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A registered member of COREN is a must
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit)
