We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Machinist / Machine Operator

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Day to day running of the AM machines.
  • Load the AM material into the required machines.
  • Monitor print queue and material changes in anticipation of requests and print schedule
  • Maintaining the AM systems.
  • Inspect 3D printer parts for print quality and print error
  • Achieve and strive for highest quality standards in work
  • Contribute to and foster best practice in the operation of the AM process.
  • Achieve established work-area cleanliness standards and maintain a high-degree of organization in work area(s), as frequent Customer and other stakeholder tours will be taken through the area.
  • Removal of AM components from the build platform
  • Heat treatment and post processing of AM components (Hand finishing, powder removal etc).
  • Liaising with Engineers to resolve any issues.

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical School with Mechanical / Machinist qualification
  • Technical certification on Technical Drawings and Metrology
  • Demonstrate ability in machining technology and hands on experience.
  • Ability to operate machine tool machineries (Lathe, Milling Machine, Drilling Machine etc.)
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Previous experience with 3D printers and other additive manufacturing techniques, preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop experimental concepts quickly and iterate based on empirical evidence
  • Experience in mechanical prototyping design and assembly: mechanically inclined, able to work with their hands to design, assemble/disassemble, modify, and operate test apparatuses

Key Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of reading drawings and manufacturing technologies.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as being able to work within a team.
  • An understanding of the requirement to follow procedures in order to maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • Good manual dexterity and practical hands-on skills, competent with the use of hand tools
  • There are physical and manual elements to the job; the ability to handle these elements is essential.

Desirable Requirements:

  • A good level of PC literacy with excellent record keeping skills.
  • Previous experience in an engineering/machiningenvironment.
