We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Technical Project Supervisor, Capital Projects Location: Lagos Department: Technical Reporting Line: Snr. Manager, Capital Project Responsibilities

  • The Technical Projects Supervisor, Capital Projects will be responsible for the project management of assigned technical capital projects, ensuring that they meet the quality standards set, are delivered on time, within budget and allocated resources.
  • The Technical Project Supervisor will also manage the vendors and partners involved in the capital projects, and ensure all projects are executed to meet the business objectives and strategic intent of Main One.
Other Responsibilities include:
  • Manage end to end project management and delivery (Initiation, Planning, Implementation, Quality Control & Reporting, Documentation & Closure) of assigned projects and in line with overall business goals
  • Create Project Initiation Documents and detailed Project plans including project objectives, key deliverables, project schedules, budgets and cost tracking for the Technical team on assigned capital projects.
  • Document and analyze potential project risks, barriers and obstacles as well as define appropriate mitigating plans to enable timely avoidance/ resolution.
  • Develop processes and procedures required for the implementation of Data Centre and other capital projects.
  • Vendor engagement and management as needed per project to ensure technical competence, accurate quotations and assist in negotiations to keep costs within budget.
  • Liaise with Data Centre operations team in the deployment of New Data Centre and expansion Projects.
  • Research new technology solutions to support customer’s needs and support in their procurement and deployment.
  • Provide technical information and support to other units in line with business efforts (Commercial and Legal teams).
  • Document Management of hard copy and soft copy for all Capital Projects implemented. This will include SharePoint management and archiving.
  • Coordinate technical team reporting to management including creation, collation and edition of Shareholders’reports, business and lenders’ reports as needed by the business on technical projects.
  • Mentor junior project team members in providing direction and on tasks/projects, necessary motivation required for teamwork and continuous performance. Assist with skills acquisition and learning plans in line with business objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations on all technical capital projects to management as required.

Qualifications, Skills  & Competencies
  • A First Degree in Engineering
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certificates required.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ work experience with hands-on Project management skills in IT/Telecoms environment
  • Good knowledge of Data Centre design and architecture will be an added advantage
  • Industry awareness and commercial acumen, great attention to detail, organization, planning and budgeting skills as well as a good knowledge of telecoms network quality standards and support infrastructure are all required.
  • Business process design and development skills, report writing skills, strong communication, negotiation and persuasive skills are also required for this role.
  • Candidate must also possess a strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
      Job Title: HR Analyst - Recruitment Location: Lagos Department: Corporate Services & Development Reporting Line: HR Manager Responsibilities
  • The Human Resources Analyst will coordinate all of Main One’s recruitment activities, ensuring timely placement of the right candidates within the company.
  • He/She should have a clear understanding of company’s headcount budget each year and drive the manpower planning process.
The specific responsibilities shall include the following: Workforce Planning:
  • Update the organizational structure/chart as required.
  • Maintain and update the manpower plan.
  • Coordinate the manpower planning process, working with teams for timely identification of upcoming vacancies/job reassignments.
  • Prepare monthly reports on the workforce profile
Recruitment:
  • Work with hiring units to develop Job Descriptions.
  • Identify suitable recruitment channels for each role.
  • Coordinate the internal and external posting of vacancies
  • Develop and maintain standard testing tools for competency/function based recruitment
  • Ensure that every role has a detailed job description
  • Conduct initial CV sift and shortlist candidates
  • Conduct first level interviews to screen candidates
  • Track recruitment statistics and generate weekly & monthly reports.
  • Update the recruitment tracker and execute the action items.
Selection:
  • Shortlist and summarize CVs for easier evaluation before sending to hiring departmental heads.
  • Coordinate interview sessions for successful candidates up to the HOD/CEO level.
  • Provide feedback to candidates within the stipulated process turnaround time.
  • Administer psychometric tests or similar tests that assess the applicant’s personality fit for all sales candidates.
  • Ensure all vacancies are filled by suitable candidates within the targeted time.
  • Obtain and assess credentials of candidates.
  • Draft employment contracts for selected candidates.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and advise employee on other benefits.
  • Periodically review the recruitment and selection processes and recommend improvements.

Qualifications/Competencies Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • 3 - 5 years’ HR generalist experience is required.

  • This function is responsible for the management of all capital projects, ensuring that they meet the quality standards set, are delivered on time, within budget and allocated resources.
  • The Manager, Capital Projects will also manage the vendors and partners involved in projects, ensuring all projects are executed to meet the business objectives and strategic intent of Main One.
Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide project management leadership for Capital Projects, promoting best practice in Project Management and ensuring assigned projects are delivered to agreed specifications, timelines and approved budget
  • Manage the implementation of Data Centres and capital projects/programme, ensuring projects are being delivered effectively and most efficiently.
  • Analyze potential project risks as well as barriers and define appropriate mitigating plans to enable timely avoidance/ resolution.
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structure and detailed project management documentations, including milestones and responsibilities share on all Capital Projects.
  • Develop processes and work standards required for the implementation of capital projects, and monitor compliance to ensure the set objectives are met.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Capital Projects departmental processes, keeping custody of all Departmental Process documents
  • Guide the Technical team’s capital expenditure for the company in line with the strategic plan and report on the CAPEX spend on Capital projects, ensuring consideration of financial and technical tradeoffs as well as compliance with all fiscal and regulatory parameters.
  • Perform strategic planning and financial analysis, including budget preparation and obtaining necessary approvals for all capital projects.
  • Monitor the budget for capital projects; oversee their financial effectiveness by exercising cost control measures, motivating for budget enhancements when required.
  • Monitor and administer the relevant contracts and agreements for each project.
  • Measure the delivery of the Technical key performance indicators (KPIs) especially as it relates to the capital projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on all capital projects to the GM and management as required.

  • At least 5 years’ experience delivering Data Center projects is a core requirement.
  • A minimum of 12 years of work experience, six (6) of which must have been in leading and directing complex projects/programmes.
  • Excellent engineering design skills is a requirement for this position while good knowledge of Data Centre design and architecture will be an added advantage.
  • Other skills such as planning and organization, budgeting, policy design and development, process improvement, negotiation and strategic planning are also required.
