Job Title: Admin Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Position Summary

  • Pulse is looking for an Admin Manager who will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the office, supervise the admin staff, and provide any other support required for the company and teams’ optimal productivity, safety, and wellbeing.
  • This role will require working closely with employees, interacting with guests, contractors, and other third-party vendors, therefore great interpersonal skills are a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the office on a day to day basis - the office environment should always make a good impression on staff and guests
  • Office facilities, equipment, and resources should be well maintained and in good working condition - needed repairs should be arranged in a timely manner so that work is not interrupted and productivity is not affected
  • Proactively identify issues with office operations and put in place preventative measures
  • Problem solve effectively and efficiently whenever issues arise
  • Assist with monthly data and call subscriptions for staff
  • Ensure the correct use of office resources such as the company vehicle, Uber, and Bolt company accounts and provide monthly reporting on usage
  • Identify and fulfil office supply needs, maintaining good stock levels, and keeping good records and inventories of all office equipment and assets
  • Manage supplier, vendor, and contractor relationships effectively - also manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness for all admin-related expenditure
  • Keep transparent records of expenditure in Google Sheets and back up receipts to Google Drive in well-organised folders for audit purposes
  • Maintain office policies, training, and retraining staff where necessary for their proper implementation
  • Manage health and safety procedures and ensure these are regularly updated and adhered to
  • Supervise and monitor the work of support and maintenance staff such as drivers, cleaners, security, gardeners, etc
  • Manage infrastructure planning such as moves, additions, changes to workstations, refurbishments, and provide answers, resources, and solutions as requested
  • Provide other administrative support as needed, including booking travel and accommodation, mailing and shipping packages and letters, scheduling appointments, planning for meetings and events, hospitality planning for guests, etc.
  • Keep management informed of performance with timely reporting
  • Work with discretion and complete integrity in all matters, especially financial
  • Keep up to date with all organisational changes and business developments

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year experience as an admin or office manager
  • Experience developing and improving on internal systems and processes
  • Experience using Google Workspace - especially Google Sheets and Docs
  • Highly organised and able to work in a structured way
  • Must be resourceful, proactive and solution-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be friendly and have a positive attitude, even under pressure.

Job Title: Editorial Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Lagos

Overview

  • We are looking for an Editorial Quality Assurance Manager who will review stories and posts on our Pulse websites across Africa for accuracy, to ensure that we deliver quality content consistently.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee content published on the websites to ensure a high quality finished product
  • Examine content for clarity, and consistency
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies and errors in grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation
  • Verify accuracy and check sources of content when necessary
  • Ensure adherence to our content framework for consistency in hyphenation, capitalisation, quotation, etc
  • Edit and ensure the quality of online content, including text, multimedia, HTML, and XML assets
  • Perform technical quality assurance to verify the functionality of online simulations
  • Working collaboratively with the editorial team and resolving queries directly with the author, e.g. style and text inconsistencies
  • Maintain awareness of new words or phrases coming into popular usage with a view to ensuring they're appropriate for the readership
  • Ensuring QA task deadlines are met
  • Improve key editorial steps/processes and suggest improvements

  • A strong editorial/ journalism background in digital media
  • Ability to edit stories quickly and with an eye for accuracy

Position Summary

  • Pulse is looking for an experienced Senior Digital Account Manager who has a solid understanding of sports.
  • Our Senior Digital Account Managers are post-sale Digital Marketing Strategists responsible for the successful management of digital strategy for our client brands.
  • You will answer key questions such as how brands are communicated and experienced through digital interactions, and how 360 digital interactions fit into broader customer experiences.
  • You will help to achieve the client’s strategic brand and business objectives by providing them with guidance and working with the internal team to achieve seamless strategy delivery.

The Role

  • The Senior Digital Account Manager is a position we’re hiring for in our Lagos office. The role will report to the Head of Account Management and work very closely with the Director of Accounts & Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop effective post-sale strategies for clients in accordance with their requirements and ensure seamless execution.
  • Proactively suggest innovative digital strategies to improve the quality of Pulse Marketing client campaigns.
  • Ensure accountability is established during the project planning process.
  • Produce content calendars according to dictated deadlines and to the highest standard.

  • Quality control of designs and layouts including proofreading for spelling and grammar.
  • Gather information and data for design briefs through research and demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches.
  • You may be required to manage more than one brief at a time and will have to allocate the relevant amount of time according to the value of the job - ensuring that deadlines are met on all design projects.
  • Responsibility for securing appropriate rights, licenses, and clearances for image usage to avoid copyright infringement.
  • Work with a wide range of media, including photography and interactive design.
  • Ensure the proper organisation and backup of graphic design work.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media and keep up to date with design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and other software from the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • We are looking for an Editor in Chief who will be responsible for shaping the content direction of an exciting new media product of Pulse - Pulse Sports - and grow and manage a team of talented sports reporters, social media managers, and videographers.
  • You will have a proven track record of reporting sports related news and events, and creating engaging sports related content in a wide variety of digital and social media story formats suited to our audience.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of sports locally, in Africa and globally, and have a good network within the sports industry.
  • As Editor in Chief, you will be a key driver of Pulse’s growth in the sports segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Editorial planning and strategy execution for all sports-related coverage - reporters should contribute original reporting on sports-related events in real-time across the Pulse Sports website and social media channels
  • Develop compelling formats and styles for the various pages and social channels, ensuring content is always engaging and innovative
  • Secure top-level contributors and source interviews, profiles, and features for exclusive content
  • Maximise the potential of major sporting events, securing key partnerships and access for coverage
  • Quality control of published content - story authenticity, fact-checking, spelling, grammar, punctuation - and ensure stories are reflective of our Editorial guidelines at all times
  • Work closely with the Project Leader to ensure that marketing strategies for Pulse Sports are effective in building brand positioning and awareness
  • Work closely with the Project Leader and commercial teams to support sales and lead generation efforts
  • Reach traffic and overall performance KPIs of Pulse Sports and actively identify and implement strategies to increase reach and relevance
  • Liaise with Tech & Product Teams on back-end and front-end updates, mobile development, and CMS changes
  • Ensuring synergies with other Pulse products and teams are maximized and closely collaborating with our international partners
  • Promote a work environment of continuous improvement, manage team learning sessions and facilitate knowledge sharing on an ongoing basis
