Arabella Landscape Limited is a wholly indigenous Landscape Development specializing in full Landscape Maintenance, Irrigation Design, and Installation, Landscape Design (in conjunction with Building Design Workshop), Golf Course Design and Construction, Interior Landscape.

Job Title: Landscape Architect
Location: Lagos

Purpose

Responsibilities­­­­

  • Represent Arabella Landscape Limited in achieving quality and best practice landscaping.
  • Identify and report design and construction issues with the potential to result in a legacy of maintenance or aesthetic issues and with a view to rectify, modify and resolve issues.
  • Assist in acquiring information, plans, and resources to ensure a seamless and cost-efficient transition from construction to maintenance processes and to ensure a thorough record and understanding of the installed landscape.
  • Assist in representing the Community and Arabella Landscape Ltd’s interests in ensuring that the completed landscape is of appropriate quality for handover to Arabella Landscape Ltd management and with any related deficiencies recorded and with agreed timeframes for remediation.
  • Monitor routine maintenance and progress on reported deficiencies throughout the Project period and ensure that maintenance is of a good standard that ensures the viability and continued success of the installation and that issues are reported and addressed
  • Ensure that all contractual obligations and associated Service Level Agreements are met by the contractor(s)
  • Ensure that contractual works are of a high quality, safely delivered, and are managed to consider community comfort and convenience
  • Provide general support for the quality of the lake's environment to ensure a pleasant, safe, fit for purpose and sustainable water quality solution – including supporting controls on pollution.
  • Ensure that water quality testing by an independent and qualified third party contract is routinely provided to monitor the lake's water quality and ensure that all legislative and environmental obligations are met. Independent and auditable records are maintained to demonstrate compliance
  • Through daily site inspections and close supervision of staff and related contract(s), support delivery of reliable maintenance on an ongoing basis and ensure that lakes water remains attractive, safe, fit for purpose, and is consistent with community expectations and with relevant legislative controls and standards.
  • Assist in the design, development, and tender of the Landscape Maintenance Contract.
  • Assist in developing a contract that considers site conditions, variables, installed landscape, and maintenance requirements and achieves a quality solution at the best possible price.
  • Through contract coordination, control of any related works and daily site inspections and close supervision, deliver reliable maintenance to the installed landscape on an ongoing basis and ensure that it remains attractive, comfortable, safe, fit for purpose, and is consistent with community expectations and with relevant legislative controls and standards.
  • Monitor routine maintenance and progress on reported deficiencies throughout the project period and support full investigation, reporting, and resolution of any related issues.
  • Achieve a thorough understanding of interim and final water quality maintenance infrastructure and processes, coordinate water quality maintenance, and assist in managing related purchasing and contract(s).

Key Performance Area

  • Landscape Architects must consider budget, client needs, functionality, government regulations, and environmental impact when designing a site.
  • They research both natural and man-made features that exist on proposed sites to determine how to improve them and work them into the plans.
  • Upon approval of a project, landscape engineers list the needed materials and supplies, as well as construction details.
  • Ensure that plans are followed during site construction.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Performs administrative functions pertaining to crew management.
  • During the planning stage, landscape engineers may make several revisions to the design of the project.
  • When the site plan is completed, landscape engineers compile reports, cost estimates, photos, illustrations, land use studies, and models to create a proposal to submit to the client.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess B.Arch or M.Arch with 5-7 years work experience.
