Kogi State University Anyigba was established on 18th November, 1999 and currently, has a total student population of over 23,000 students spread across its eight (8) faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Though a state University, Kogi State University accommodates a significant number of non-indigenes, from all parts of Nigeria. The University has graduated about 16,500 students. The University commenced postgraduate programmes in all the faculties in 2008/2009 except for Faculties of Education and Medicine in order to boost research and high level manpower development.

Position Title: Librarian
The Person for the Position of the Librarian:
The ideal candidate for the position must have drive with strong passion for result and must:
(i.) Be below the age of 60 years at the point of assumption of duty;
(ii.) Have strong leadership and communication skills;
(iii.) Be creative, proactive and self-motivated;
(iv.) Have excellent interpersonal skill;
(v.) Have integrity and commitment; and

The Librarian:
The Librarian is a Principal Officer of the University responsible
for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all
library services in the entire University community and reports to the
Vice Chancellor.
Qualifications:
Candidate for this post shall;
(i.) Be professionally qualified and be a practicing Librarian;
(ii.) Possess a good Honours Degree and Ph.D. in Library and
Information Science from a recognized University with at least fifteen
(15) years relevant experience, preferably in a University or other
institutions of higher learning at least five (5) of which must be at
the Deputy University Librarian level
(iii.) Have contributed to knowledge through research and
publications in reputable journals, as well as possess proven records of
sound administrative leadership;
(iv.) Be a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN);
(v.) Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications;
Position Title: The Director of Advancement
The Director is charged with the responsibility to lead, produce and
implement a strategy to achieve an integrated Advancement programme,
including clear objectives, performance measures, budgets and other
resource requirements for fundraising, alumni relations and
communications. The Director serves as the Chief Administrative head of
the Directorate and reports to the Vice Chancellor on the daily
activities of the centre.
The Major Roles of the Director will be in the Following Areas:
(i.) Lead, supervise and coordinate the running of the
directorate, setting strategies and goals for each unit and monitoring
their progress towards goals;
(ii.) Work with the Vice Chancellor to secure higher level support
from individuals, corporations, foundations and special government
funding opportunities;
(iii.) Manage the fundraising budgets and ensure that the
University can track the return on the investment in Advancement
Directorate;
(iv.) Ensure that the leadership of the University, including
volunteers are engaged with the Advancement Directorate and its mission;
(v.) Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that
donated funds are used effectively and in ways that are consistent with
the University’s undertakings to donors and sponsors;
(vi.) Achieve key performance indicators as agreed with senior
management and work within the Human Relations guidelines of the
University;
(vii.) Commission and oversee development communications as required;
(viii.) Develop and implement strategies to secure gifts that support
individual priorities and achieve the agreed targets of the University;
(ix.) Prepare and maintain policy and procedure manual for the Directorate to ensure accountability;
(x.) Identify, cultivate, solicit, secure and steward significant
donations or sponsorships from potential donors including individuals,
corporations, foundations and government;
(xi.) Responsible for staff development programme for all staff of the Directorate, including orientation for new employees;
(xii.)Work within the governing rules and guidelines of the University;
(xiii.) Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor.
The Ideal Candidate Profile:
Interested candidates should have at least fifteen (15) years
post-university graduation cognitive experience in a relevant and
related University activity. The candidate should possess a track record
of team work and team building, have strong effective communication
skills in both oral and written presentations. The candidate must have
excellent human relationship skills and a strong mind of giving. He/she
should convincingly demonstrate the ability to perform the stated roles
of the Director of Advancement.
Condition of Service:
The condition attached to this position is as generally applicable in
the Nigerian University System and as may from time to time be
determined by the Governing Council. The appointment shall be for a
single term of five (5) years.
