Job Title: Managing Director/CEO
Location: Nigeria
Job Description
- The suitable candidate will be a strategist with the ability to steer the company to a path of profitability while also implementing its vision, mission and long term goals.
- The aim is to ensure that the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.
- As a “going concern’ the company is desirous of meeting the strategic objectives and changing demands of the current market landscape while also maintaining its leadership role in the Industry.
- He/She will provide executive management services to the company.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the Successful Candidates will:
- Be the Chief Marketing Officer of the company
- Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
- Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
- Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures.
- Maintain business profitability and ensure compliance with all regulatory directives and NAICOM guidelines.
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of other Executives/Managers while providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
- Prepare and implement comprehensive business initiatives through cost effective operations and market development activities
- Act as the public speaker and public relations representative of the company in ways that strengthen its profile
Requirements
- A recognized professional qualification in Insurance (eg. ACIIN) with not less than 10 years post qualification experience in the Insurance Industry, 7 of which must be at senior Management level. Alternatively, a First degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution, with not less than 15 years of post qualification experience, 10 of which must be at a Senior Management level in the Technical department of an insurance or reinsurance company/ies.
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
- Familiarity with corporate Governance and management best practices
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving abilities
- High level strategic thinking and networking capabilities
- Proven experience as Managing Director or Executive
- Director in an Insurance Company is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in the use of modern day technology based service delivery tools
Job Title: Executive Director, Technical
Location: Nigeria
Job Description
- As a “going concern’ the company is desirous of meeting the strategic objectives and changing demands of the current market landscape while also maintaining its leadership role in the Industry.
- The successful candidate shall be responsible for leading and supervising the Technical Directorate (Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance) functions of the company.
- He/she will be responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors through the Managing Director.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the Successful Candidates will:
- Provide effective support to the board in defining the strategic direction and focus of the company.
- Lead the initiation and implementation of strategies and policies in accordance with board approved priorities for the Technical Directorate.
- Oversee the delivery of projected underwriting, claims and reinsurance performance results through effective account management (revenue & product)
- Accountable for effective implementation and adherence to established obligations, contracts and other underwriting, claims and reinsurance commitments.
- Annually design, implement and manage underwriting, claims and reinsurance authority, guidelines and approval thresholds
- Responsible for all technical regulatory compliance requirements as set by the National insurance Commission
- Provide direct oversight for day to day operations of policy administration and insurance operational functions
- Provide technical assistance to other directorates and staff
- Financial planning, account monitoring and analysis of underwriting trends
- Generate business growth opportunities by developing and managing key relationships for enhanced revenue performance
- Provide Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance philosophies and disciplines across all business lines
- Lead and motivate divisional and departmental teams with direct reporting relationship to the office
- Manage and execute high level process development as well as the quantity and quality of work performed by the technical directorate
- Other duties as assigned by the MD/CEO and the board.
Qualifications and Attributes
- A First Degree, preferably in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related discipline acquired with not less than 15 years post qualification experience. A Master's degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Good team leading and building orientation
- Executive level of creative and innovative competencies
- Proficiency in the use of modern day technology - based service delivery tools.
- Must have a recognized professional qualification in Insurance eg. ACIIN (Acquired not less than 10 years)
- 15+ years experience in underwriting; 10 years of which must be at senior management level.
Job Title: Investment Officer
Location: Nigeria
Job Description
- As a “going concern’ the company is desirous of meeting the strategic objectives and changing demands of the current market landscape while also maintaining its leadership role in the Industry.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining the investment process and above all perform the critical function of asset management.
- He/she will develop the asset allocation levels aimed at creating balanced investment portfolios; conduct traditional investment research as well as technical analysis to help the company make trading decisions.
- He/she will be responsible and accountable to the ED, Finance & Administration through the Team Lead, Finance & Admin.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the Successful Candidates will:
- Review all the company's investment portfolio.
- Design the company’s investment portfolio
- Ensure the maintenance of a well diversified portfolio
- Update and maintains investment schedules and fixed assets register
- Tracks and analyses quoted investments daily
- Monitor money market and trends in the stock market through corporate interaction, news media and electronic information medium
- Keep close watch on changing economic trends in the market and accordingly suggest changes in investment strategies
- Analyse and advise on new investments
- Negotiate most favourable interest rates and any other associated business with placement banks and other financial institutions.
- Carry out investment reconciliation on portfolios
- Conduct due diligence on company’s investments
- Perform any other activities as assigned by the Executive Director Finance and Administration
Qualifications and Attributes
- Minimum Education: B.Sc/HND in Finance related field
- ACS; ACCA; ACA;CFA and/or MBA qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum experience of 5 years post graduation of which 2 years must be in similar role.
- Expertise in analysis and interpretation of financial information
- Knowledge of portfolio management, stock market, real estate, foreign exchange and money market operations.
