Job Title: Finance Intern

Location: Abuja

Description

  • The Finance Intern will contribute to maintaining adequate financial integrity in supporting quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports.
  • S/he will be responsible for timely processing of funds for programme activities for AAN and contribute to strengthening the internal control and accounting systems of ActionAid Nigeria (AAN).
  • The Intern position is an opportunity offered by ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) for young graduates to earn a post NYSC experience.
  • It is therefore both a learning and value-adding relationship between interns and AAN.
  • The intern is expected to take advantage of the space offered for experience gathering, self-development, while providing quality service to ActionAid Nigeria.
  • This is a standard 1-year programme and non-renewable upon expiry.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications:

  • First Degree in Accounting / Finance is essential
  • Student Membership of ICAN is desirable

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years post NYSC experience, one (1) of which should have been spent on a finance position is essential
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of financial control systems is essential
  • Practical Knowledge of an accounting software EXCEL, WORD is essential

Skill / Abilities:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English language
  • Highly numerate
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent (proven) interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills.

Job Title: Intern, Partnership and Local Rights Programme

Location: Abuja

Description

  • The Programme Intern will be responsible for providing administrative and programme support to the Partnership & Local Rights Programme (P&LRP) unit for effective programme implementation and delivery.
  • The Intern position is an opportunity offered by ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) for young graduates to earn a post NYSC experience. It is therefore both a learning and value-adding relationship between interns and AAN.

Job Title: Web Portal Information and Visual Design Consultant

Location: Abuja

Description

  • The Consultant will work with a team of Administrators to manage the Women Voice and Leadership (WVL) Project Feminist Hub.
  • S/he will ensure smooth running and operations of the web portal through creative and appealing user-friendly interface, streamlining navigation, and increasing the web portal online presence especially among Women’s Rights Organizations.
  • In addition, the Consultant will be required to carry out routine checks on the website and give informed assessment when required.
  • The Consultant will work with the WVL Communications Officer, Web Portal Content Consultant and the Communications Hub to ensure synergy with all AAN digital platforms.
  • S / he will be expected to work twice a week, for a maximum of 8 days in a month.

Qualifications / Experience

  • First Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or any related field
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Website Manager
  • Proficiency in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to maximize traffic to the Hub
  • Experience managing websites in the Social Development Sector is desirable.

Job Title: Finance Consultant

Location: Abuja

Description

  • The Finance Consultant will contribute to maintaining adequate financial integrity in supporting quality and timely data input for generation of financial reports, review and analyze accounting ledgers.
  • S/he will also contribute to strengthening the internal control and accounting systems of AAN and partner organizations.

Qualifications / Experience

  • First Degree in Accounting / Economics with minimum of 3 years’ experience in the INGO / NGO sector
  • A qualified Chartered Accountant or undergoing professional qualification
  • Experience managing donor (FCDO, EU, Foundation etc) funded related projects
  • Knowledge of Accounting / Finance cycles and taxation
  • Knowledge of statutory and Internal Audit processes is desirable
  • Must be computer literate with proven knowledge in Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in reputable / dependable high-tech Accounting software is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have high respect for professional and personal integrity, and ethically sound.
