Breakthrough ACTION/Nigeria is a new five-year, USAID-funded project. The goal of Breakthrough ACTION/Nigeria is to increase the practice of 17 priority individual and household level behaviors and five provider targeted behaviors in the areas of malaria; maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition; family planning and reproductive health (RH); and tuberculosis, while increasing the capacity of national and sub-national entities to coordinate and oversee quality SBC programming. Implementation will vary by health area across eleven states. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Consultant - Technical Producer Location: Abuja Scope of Work

  • The consultants will use a pre-existing creative brief to design and create refreshingly new and exciting radio program on MNCH+N thematic area for the project.
Specifically, the consultant will be responsible for:
  • Recruiting a professional Hausa musician for a theme song
  • Recording, mixing and mastering a theme song for the program
  • Designing, recording and mixing unique stings for the program
  • Conducting technical rehearsal with actors/presenters
  • Recording 26 episodes of 25-minute radio program content (drama + factual) within production schedule
  • Editing and mastering for 26 episodes of 25-minute radio content with production schedule
  • The consultant will sign a MOU not to share or use any of the final products from the work with others and not to use them for any other purpose outside this scope of work.
  • Deliverable: high quality and engaging 26-episode radio program on MNCH+N thematic areas.
  • Consultation period: 7 weeks (May 6th-24th June 2019)
  • Supervision and Technical Oversight: The consultant will report directly to BA-Nigeria Program Officer II-Media
Timeline:
  • The Consultant must provide final deliverables by or before 17th of June 2019
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated professional development in radio production
  • Experience recording radio drama for public health related projects
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Access to studio space and recording gadgets to accomplish the scope of work.
Terms of Payment
  • Payment is on daily rate
  • The consultant will be paid 100% of the consultancy upon satisfactory delivery of services.
  • 5% Withholding Tax will also be deducted from the total value of consultancy fees and paid to relevant tax authorities.

  • Breakthrough ACTION-Nigeria hereby seeks proposals from individuals or companies with experience in writing health related radio spots for a social and behavior change program.
  • BA-Nigeria works with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), National and State Malaria Elimination Programs (NMEP/SMEP) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Implementing Partners (IP) to develop comprehensive, costed, state-level Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) programs for malaria, family planning, tuberculosis (TB) and Maternal and Neonatal Child Health Plus Nutrition (MNCH+N) in Nigeria.
  • The consultants will use a pre-existing creative brief to design and create refreshingly new and exciting radio spots scripts on several thematic areas for the project-MNCH+N, Family Planning, TB and Malaria.
Specifically, the consultant will be responsible for writing: Spot Scripts:
  • The consultant will sign a MOU not to share or use any of the final products from the work with others and not to use them for any other purpose outside this scope of work.
  • Deliverable: Full engagement and participation in the design and writing of exciting radio spot scripts during the consultation period.
  • Consultation period: 1 week (4th-9th March 2019)
  • Supervision and Technical Oversight: The consultants will report directly to BA-Nigeria Senior Program Officer II-Media
Timeline:
  • The Consultant must provide final deliverables by or before 9th of March 2018
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated professional writing content for radio
  • Proven ability to write engaging content for radio (both dramatic and factual info)
  • Experience writing radio spots for public health related projects
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Access to a laptop to accomplish the scope of work
  • Availability during the consultation period.

  • The consultant will sign a MOU not to share or use any of the final products of the work with others and not to use them for any other purpose outside this scope of work.
  • Deliverable: 26 Exciting radio program scripts on the MNCH+N thematic area.
Timeline:
  • The Consultant must provide final deliverables by or before 22nd of April 2019
Qualifications

  • Access to a laptop to accomplish the scope of work
  • Availability during the consultation period
  • Demonstrated professional writing for radio
  • Proven ability to write engaging content for radio (both dramatic and factual info)
  • Experience developing radio content-drama and factual for public health related projects
  • Experience developing social and behavior change content
Terms of Payment

  • The consultant will be paid 100% of the consultancy upon satisfactory delivery of services.
