The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Abuja Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancies below:   Job Title: Resource Mobilisation Project Officer Location: Abuja Main Responsibilities

  • Acts as the main focal point of the TEF Entrepreneurship Forum working closely with Economic Security department on technical aspects and the Resource Mobilization Country Manager on the strategic and managerial aspects of the partnership. S/he ensures that all partnership-related documentation is kept up to date, filed and that information is shared with all internal team members.
  • Monitors Key Performance Indicators of the TEF partnership
  • Drafts all reports, minutes of meetings and ensures filing and information sharing
  • Sets up, prepares agendas and coordinates all external and internal meetings on TEF and other projects, including high profile donor events and corporate events
  • Acts as the main communication focal point between ICRC-supported TEF participants/alumni/mentors and the ICRC ensuring they are well informed of milestones and processes
  • Organizes field sessions/meetings with ICRC-supported TEF candidates
  • Oversees the application review process of ICRC-supported TEF participants
  • Handles all other TEF-related partnership issues as requested by the Resource Mobilization Country Manager
  • Assists in research analysis, mapping and establishing contact with prospect corporate and other organizations with which the ICRC might partner with
  • Assists the Resource Mobilization Country Manager on the Innovation file (Makeathon and Almanach) and other donor relations and fundraising activities
Scope and Impact:
  • Geographic remit: local level, with frequent travel to Lagos and other cities in Nigeria as needed
  • Under the responsibility of the Resource Mobilization Country Manager, maintains relations with all relevant stakeholders and internal ICRC relevant departments
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, social sciences, communication or any other relevant field.
  • Master’s degree in the above mentioned fields is an advantage
  • 2-3 years of experience working on donor and corporate relations with a development or humanitarian organization
  • Expert level in computer skills
  • Excellent English language skills, French an asset

      Job Title: Health Field Officer 2 (Midwife) Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Main Responsibilities
  • Evaluates reproductive health needs, prepares medical support and assists the health activities with close monitoring in the field
  • Contributes, in close collaboration with the SPHCDA, to support a primary health care package of preventive and curative activities in the AoR with regular presence in the field.
  • Trains the staff on all components of Reproductive Health offered in Primary Health Care set up, through on-the-job and formal trainings.
  • Contributes to improving drug and material management, including inventory, consumption monitoring, supply requests and delivery to the clinics.
  • Contributes to internal reporting as required (data collection from the facilities, monthly reporting, quarterly technical health report, bi-weekly operational reports…)
  • Maintains regular contacts with the State, LGA, and community interlocutors
  • Stays alert about the security situation in the surrounding;
  • Does oral and written translations, in particular translating in meetings with ICRC community interlocutors if needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife registered with the Nursing Council of Nigeria;
  • Experience in Public Health programs and in the Reproductive Health sector is mandatory;
  • At least 2 years’ working experience in Nigeria and knowledge of the Nigerian Health System;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English;
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry and analysis.

      Job Title: Protection Field Officer Location: Yola, Adamawa Main Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the collection, analysis and monitoring of protection concerns and trends, with a priority to the humanitarian consequences of the armed conflict in the Area of Responsibility (AoR)
  • Writes reports related to field visits and contributes to the follows-up on meetings with interlocutors and IDPs on protection issues
  • Participates in the (direct and indirect) collection of information on incidents related to the armed conflict
  • Monitors, together with the Protection Delegate and other departments, future Community Based Protection projects
  • Analyze the security situation within the Sub delegation AoR and reports to the Protection Delegate.
Required Qualifications
  • University degree in the relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in humanitarian, human rights and/or civil society organizations.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Hausa and / or any local languages spoken in the North East is an asset.
  • Knowledge of social programs of state, federal NGO and International institutions in Nigeria.
  • Excellent computer skills and research.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the assigned environment

      Job Title: Accountant 1 Location: Yola Main Responsibilities
  • Prepares, reconciles and analyzes all accounting records of the Sub-Delegation and coordinate all finance and administrative duties as assigned by the Finance and Administration Manager;
  • Ensures compliance of financial rules and controls, verification of invoices and requisites support document before payment;
  • Prepares the accounting entries in JDE accounting software on a regular basis;
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions in accordance with the financial procedures;
  • Helps ensure that operations run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the funds needs of Yola Sub-Delegation;
  • Provides support to other departments and responds to semi-routine and non-standard inquiries when necessary;
  • Identifies anomalies or other issues and proposes solutions to his/her supervisor;
  • Performs other duties as specifically instructed by the Finance and Administration Manager and substitute his/her colleagues when absent.

      Job Title: Communications Field Officer II Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Main Responsibilities
  • Contributes to define communication and possibly prevention objectives, strategies and plans of action for the Portharcourt operational area or programme covered in line with the priorities of the field structure.
  • With minimum supervision, implements relevant activities and develop tools for operational communication; community engagement; IHL promotion; building NS communication capacity; public communication, digital communication; information analysis/ environment scanning; religious circles; public affairs and resource mobilisation.
  • Supports the head of the Port Harcourt subdelegation and/or the country communication and prevention manager in networking with relevant stakeholders and represents ICRC with various audiences.
  • Follows political, security, military and humanitarian developments, as well as other issues related to the ICRC's reputation/perception and capacity to operate in the geographic area covered, contributing to analysis.
  • Performs daily media monitoring and reporting for the POH operational area of the Niger Delta
  • Interprets and translates from and into local language in support of Communication programs when required.
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the communication team (e.g. archiving, stock management, event organisation) when required.
Required Qualifications

      Job Title: Cashier I Location: Jos, Plateau Main Responsibilities
  • Handles the delegation's cash disbursements and payments, including salaries and working advances
  • Prepares invoices for payment (by cash, check or bank transfer).
  • Carries out daily cash count and reconciliation.
  • Participates in cash-flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity. Handles cash replenishment from the bank.
  • Assists the Welcome department in all administrative activities as requested or is in charge of a small welcome department if manageable by one person.
  • Participates in organizing pick-up and accommodation (hotel, apartment, house) for staff and guests.
  • Interacts with relevant authorities (ministries, consulates, etc.) regarding certificates, visas, permits, registration, etc.

      Job Title: Logistics Assistant Location: Kano Main Responsibilities
  • Monitors all "Lotus Note" message, distributes and prints out all in an out messages concerning Logistics and distribute accordingly
  • Ensures the Supply Chain and all related tasks are accomplished
  • Ensures that purchasing is carried out in accordance with ICRC standards, is auditable and fully transparent and is carried out into the satisfaction of the requesting department
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the storage places as well as its infrastructure (pallets, shelving, electricity and water supply, lighting, air-conditioning)
  • Ensuring proper storage of all goods and protecting them adequately from heat, freezing, water, fire, dirt and vermin
  • Supervising and assisting the clean and safe unloading of arriving consignments and checking that all consignments are accompanied by their respective waybills and packing lists
  • Closely liaising with the LOG/Purchase and other relevant ICRC departments for the Quality Control of delivered items

      Job Title: MHPSS Field Officer Location: Yola, Adamawa Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other ICRC departments in the sub delegation to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to respond to beneficiaries needs.
  • Identify referral pathways for clients in need of specialist psychological, mental health, medical and other humanitarian needs.
  • With the support of the MHPSS Programme Assistant and Cooperation FO ensure that a respectful and collaborative relationship is maintained with our implementing partner the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
  • With the support of the Mental Health Delegate and the MHPSS Programme Assistant ensure that positive relationships with relevant external actors are maintained through regular contact, coordinating activities where needed
  • Understands the mandate of ICRC and the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement.
  • Works in close interaction with the employees in the other departments and locations and provides help when needed.
Required Qualifications
  • University degree in Psychology.
  • Post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology or Medical Doctor specialized in Psychiatry or similar
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in clinical and/or community mental health and psychosocial programs
  • Experience working with the psychological effects of war political violence or other traumatic events highly desirable.
  • Able to use Microsoft office efficiently.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, fluency in Kanuri and Hausa an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural assigned environment.
