A leading independent Oil Exploration and Production company in Nigeria requires the services of experienced and dynamic candidates for the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Instrument Technician

Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, control circuits and equipment related to natural gas processes such as the compression, dehydration, measurement, transmission and storage of natural gas.
  • Responsible for installation, wiring, connecting. testing, configuring and programming instruments ad devices.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance. calibration, and functional testing of process instruments end devices.
  • Provide documentation of calibration data collected during inspections and utilization of the Instrument inspection monitoring system.
  • Responsible fo the verification of data communication systems that provide real time process and alarm information to the facility control center.
  • Develop and maintain interactive work relahonships to accurately and effectively complete instrumentation activities.
  • Support, assist, direct, instruct, inspect advise contractors and employees in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of assets.
  • Ensures regulatory and compliance standards are met.
  • Repair and service of meters end conduct routine on rotating parts, PLCs.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering from accredited University / Polytechnics with a minimum of Second Class Upper division.
  • Knowledge of Measurement devices (Press, Flow, Temperature, Moisture, Vibration, Speed, Density, Level) and ability to calibrate the same-Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control System (DCS)-Knowledge of  Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) will be required.
  • Ensures regulatory and compliance standards are met.
  • Assist and support HSES teams in ensuring compliance to safety and security policies and procedures at company's locations.
  • Champion the enforcement of standards and procedues to enesure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • A Master's Degree in any of the relevant Engineering disciplines will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in E & P company.
  • Must have experience to check and repair defective pneumatic control systems, and bleed all systems for dry air supply for controllers.
  • Must be a licensed professional engineer.
  • Must be capable of applying production. operational. Instrumentation engineering and management principles to resolve instrumentation problems and optimize hydrocarbon production enhancement opportunities.
