Job Title: HSE Officer

Job Description

  • As an HSE Officer at Primestix Construction, you will lead the implementation of HSE policies, champion a culture of safety, and ensure that our construction projects align with rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding our reputation for quality and responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines across our construction projects.
  • Drive environmental initiatives to reduce waste, promote sustainable practices, and minimize our ecological footprint.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to ensure preparedness for unexpected events.
  • Generate comprehensive HSE reports, metrics, and updates for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and implement effective controls.
  • Provide HSE training sessions for employees and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, analyzing root causes and implementing preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Monitor compliance with local regulations and industry standards, and implement necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to implement practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in HSE software tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Team player with the capacity to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
  • Professional certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in HSE roles within the construction or related industry.
  • Profound understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver impactful training and reports.
