We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: HSE Assistant

Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Job

  • To assist the Safety Health Environment (SHE) Manager in the implementation of global best practices in safety, health and environment programmes/activities.

The Job

  • Inspect the facility to report, close out/ escalate any possibility for the occurrence of accidents, fire outbreaks and hazards to ensure prompt response and preventive resolution.
  • Check the facility to ascertain that all environmental and safety equipment are in ready to use condition and keep stock and reporting each’s status as routinely required.
  • Supervise the disposal of solid/general waste within the facility to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Supervise pest control activities.
  • Advice and counsel employees on the implication of maintaining a safe working environment and complying with safe work ethics.
  • Monitor the operations within the factory to ensure appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and communicate corrections where variations exist.

Qualifications

  • 5 O' level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings / NABTEB / Trade test.
  • OND in Environmental Sciences or Engineering.
  • Membership of Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, IOSH will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 2 years cognate experience.
  • Industrial experience in food/beverage manufacturing will be an added advantage.

The Person Must:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing accurate records and reports including incident reports, safety data sheet.
  • Proficient in conducting Safety audits and inspection to identify potential hazards.
  • Able to provide emergency response support, including first aid administration and incident containment and control.
