Saro has five Subsidiaries (Saro Agrosciences, Saro Lifecare, Saro Agro-Allied, Gossy Warm Spring and Saro Oil Palm) and two Joint Ventures (AgriseedCo and Green Hills Agricultural Products). Saroafrica is set to become a leading consumer, manufacturing, FMCG and integrated agricultural value chain group. In pursuit of this ambition Saroafrica is making significant investment in a Palm Plantation and Cassava to Ethanol Plant.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Housing / Construction Manager

Location: Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties / Responsibilities
Primarily Duties:

  • Plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, costings, and budget
  • Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment
  • Hire and manage staff for the project
  • Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project, i.e. stakeholder management
  • Communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project
  • Deal with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project.
  • Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work, and overseeing quality control
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress
  • Check design documents with architects, surveyors, and engineers
  • Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed
  • Write reports

Education and Experience

  • B.Eng. in Civil Engineer or Architect degree is essential or related field (minimum of second class upper division)
  • Experienced in challenging environments (remote site and low educational level of staff)
  • Experience with interlocking soil block construction is a plus
  • Age Requirement: 30 - 38yrs old.
  • Significant knowledge and experience (min 5 years) of implementing similar projects from inception to completion in remote places

Remuneration
Proposed Gross Annual Salary: N6Million - N8Million.
