Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The HSE Manager shall develop, maintain and ensure the implementation of all Health, Safety and Environment standards to ensure a safe and low risk business environment and all related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Improve, implement and drive company safety culture across all divisions of operations.
  • Formulation and Implementation of policies and procedures for system improvement.
  • Provide advice to management of HSE legislation and compliance obligation.
  • Promote the company’s HSE policy by ensuring staff awareness and creating a learning environment that embraces the principles of involvement and participation by all employees.
  • Establishing that HSE Management objectives are set and achieved.
  • Initiating the revision of the HSE Management system and manual as per the improvement revision strategy.
  • Promote HSE policy and program.
  • Ensuring that processes needed for the Management System are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor incidents, enforce safety procedures and standards, make regular workplace visits, and send detailed reports on project safety performance to appropriate authority.
  • Ensuring the promotion of awareness of stakeholder requirements throughout the organization.
  • Conduct internal Audit of the system at regular intervals.
  • Preparing the company for Surveillance and Revalidation Audit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Management courses or any related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ similar experience in an industrial manufacturing, construction or power installation firm.
  • ISO and HSE professional certification is strictly required.
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using HSE Auditing Techniques
  • ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001:2018 knowledge.
  • Strong people management skills.

Salary
N600,000 - N1,000,000 Gross Monthly.
