Job Title: Head of Marketing

Role Overview

  • As the Head of Marketing at Vetsark, you will play a pivotal role in connecting farmers and agribusinesses to markets for their poultry products, including chickens, meat, and eggs.
  • You will be responsible for developing market access strategies, building strategic partnerships, and fostering an ecosystem that supports farmers in buying and selling their produce at favorable prices.

Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential market opportunities for farmers' poultry products. Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and demand to inform market access strategies.
  • Business Development: Develop and execute business development plans to establish partnerships with buyers, retailers, processors, and other market actors. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts to ensure a win-win situation for all stakeholders.
  • Partnership and Ecosystem Building: Collaborate with the sales and marketing team, product development team, and other departments to foster a collaborative ecosystem that supports market access initiatives.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understand the cultural context of the communities Vetsark serves to build trust and successful relationships with farmers.
  • Value Chain Integration: Collaborate with farmers and agribusinesses to align their poultry production with market demands. Provide guidance on product quality, packaging, and pricing to meet market requirements.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, buyers, and other stakeholders in the value chain. Provide support and guidance to farmers in navigating market challenges.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions and workshops for farmers on market access strategies, negotiation skills, and product positioning.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize market insights and data analytics to make data-driven decisions regarding market opportunities, pricing, and product positioning.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of market access initiatives and campaigns. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the management team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset, with proficiency in data analysis and market research tools.
  • Passion for agricultural development and a commitment to making a positive impact in the sector.
  • Proven experience in agriculture value chain development, business development, and marketing preferably in the food and agricultural sector.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behaviour, and trends in the agricultural industry.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing partnerships with market actors, buyers, and retailers.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, e-commerce platforms, and social media marketing.
