Job Description
- As the Head of Accounts, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our business objectives.
- This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by senior management.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and trends.
- Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage the accounts team, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to ensure a high level of performance.
- Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and implement professional development plans for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and individual growth.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring adequate funds are available to meet operational and investment needs.
- Implement effective cash management strategies, including cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and investment planning.
- Monitor and manage banking relationships and optimize cash management processes.
Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any financial or regulatory issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ICAN ACCA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
- 5+ years relevant work experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within the real estate industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, financial management, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
