Recently, the conglomerate revolutionized the data services in and out of all West African Countries to the rest of the world with launch of the commercial services of Glo 1 submarine cable. With Points of Presence (POP) in the UK, Hong Kong, USA and Virtual POPs in France and Germany, Glo Gateway services manage roaming connections, voice and data traffic in both the local and international markets.

Due to growth, the company needs versatile professionals to fill various positions in Glo 1 and Gateway. The positions attract competitive remuneration.

Job Title: Business Planning Executive, Gateway

Responsibilities
  • Analyse commercial performance across all voice interconnect routing plans to ensure minimum margin compliance and route quality
  • Collaborate with carriers to ascertain the best workable routes at best cost
  • Assist in developing new pricing scenarios, assessing impact on Gateway sales, gross profit and net margin percentage targets
  • Cost management, rate negotiations, monitoring and adjustment as necessary based on regulatory and market trends
  • Generation of sales lead, pre-approval of rate issuance, advisory on rates enquiries and sales cycle management
  • Report generation and analysis of data based on business transactions and figures (internal & external, local, & global, etc)
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in voice interconnect services preferably in the GSM mobile environment

  • Relevant university degrees are required for all positions.

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager, Glo 1 - London

Responsibilities
  • Drive awareness of Globacom brand and Glo 1 capabilities with international corporate and carrier clients.
  • Drive sales order value and revenue growth from Telco / ISP/Carrier 1 Enterprise segments in Europe with specific focus on UK market
  • Manage the complete sales process from opportunity identification, commercial negotiation, service activation, billing and invoice dispute resolution and trouble ticket management.
  • Manage technical relationship with Glo 1 Cable Landing Station and POP/Telehouse strategic partners, 3rd party suppliers and corporate /carrier clients
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years’ telecommunications experience with a recognized international carrier marketing international data, voice and IP services
  • Combination of Technical and Commercial competency is a prerequisite
  • Knowledge of the African telecoms landscape is desirable.

Job Title: Gateway Switch Engineer

  • Under the supervision of a manager, coordinate technical interactions with POP and International Carriers
  • Manage International carriers connected at POP and local PTO’s in Nigeria
  • Ensure optimal performance of Gateway resources
  • Ensure high level of Quality of Service on International call termination
  • Assist in managing leased line for special projects (Blackberry, NLNG)
  • Assist in managing roaming link for voice and GPRS
  • Manage International carriers trunk connection, reduction, expansion,

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in International Voice Wholesale or Voice Switching
  • Must be familiar with Local and International Interconnect Proficiency in SS7 Signalling, IP, SIGTRAN and other ITU standards
  • Must be highly analytical and have an eye for details

  • End to end business development including lead generation, order processing and order closure.

  • Manage new relationships with carriers and telecom service providers to drive sales efforts
  • Research, identify, establish and manage relations with carriers within allocated geographic region(s).
  • Negotiate carrier service contracts with various carriers.
  • Ensure prompt collection billed amounts and settlement of accounts
  • Keep track of the operational and commercial performance of the carriers and initiate improvement measure as may be required
  • Keep track of new developments in the international voice market with respect to available service technologies, pricing, service levels, and regulatory environment.
