Our clientele includes international and national oil companies, as well as smaller independents.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Geoscientist

Location: Lagos

General

  • Provide geological and geophysical input including resource evaluations, field development studies and construct reservoir geomodels for assets with varying data availability, from frontier exploration to new field developments and mature producing assets.
  • Undertake geological interpretation and analysis using appropriate techniques and technologies to provide world class solutions for our clients.

Role Description

  • Run data analysis and data quality validation throughout different property modeling workflows. Conduct geostatistical analyses to be utilized in 3D modeling
  • Candidate will be required to perform and conduct reservoir characterization studies, including Log-to-core integration, mapping, sequence stratigraphy and conceptual 3D geological modeling (Facies and reservoir properties).
  • Contribute to field development plans through well planning using simulation ready 3D integrated model.
  • Interact with Reservoir and Drilling Engineers, and communicate clearly with all parties involved in drilling activities, and prepare post-drilling analysis reports
  • Apply the latest technology and efficient workflows to generate resource assessment work process
  • Present data, interpretation and reports to clients, either individually or as part of a larger project team.
  • Train, mentor and develop young professionals on relevant skills
  • Carry out well planning, including creating well targets, generating well trajectories and loading the directional data, preparing geological prognosis including well tops, cross sections and correlation panels.
  • Make well correlations, generating and/or updating maps for structural, stratigraphic and fluid limits.

Qualifications
As a successful candidate, you should have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or related field (e.g., Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics or other related science and engineering fields) is required. A First Class degree is preferred.
  • An extensive formal experience in 3D modeling and resource assessment is desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in 3D static modeling.
  • Knowledge in structural geology, sequence stratigraphy, and clastic depositional environments and facies development
  • Understanding of petrophysical data evaluation
  • Good understanding of industry guidelines and Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS)
  • Good communication, report writing and presentation skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in conventional reservoirs with respect to reservoir characterization and 3D modeling.
