  • We are looking for a reliable General Manager for our Construction Firm to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • He will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Recruit, Coordinate and direct construction vendors, workers and subcontractors
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
  • Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Selecting appropriate construction methods for the job and budget
  • Involved in multi rise buildings and edifice
  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Review the work progress on daily basis
Requirements
  • Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, Construction management or Quantity Surveying
  • Proven 10 -12 years working experience in construction and 5 of it in Construction Management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Expatriates are invited to apply
  • An analytical mind, attention to detail and ability to make impromptu decisions based on objective criteria are skills
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies an advantage
  • High level of analytical, financial, communication and negotiation skills necessary with proficiency in MS Project, excel and CAD system
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to use relevant Engineering design software(s) to generate Civil/Structural drawings and calculations.
  • Current knowledge of industry practice and techniques; especially conditions of contract and documentations as it relates with pre and post contract processes.
