General Manager - Engineering at Genesis Energy Holding (GENESIS)


Genesis Energy Holding (GENESIS) is an Energy Infrastructure Development and Management Company with operations in various African countries. The Company was established in Mauritius and is regulated by the laws in force in the Island of Mauritius.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: General Manager - Engineering

Location: Lagos

Description 

  • We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team, who will provide leadership to our various power/operations/maintenance management of projects across our group.
  • He/she will also manage and direct all engineering activities, provides technical guidance to the operating and maintenance of the group assets. Past experience within the Energy industry would be a great advantage.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to the operating and maintenance departments, including technical support, trouble shooting, testing and inspections as needed to maintain safe and reliable operation.
  • Provides technical direction to the Power plant Managers to support plant optimization and process improvements.
  • Provides review of all engineering, designs, economic justifications, and part specifications for station projects and modifications.
  • Monitors plant process performance and provides feedback to the power infrastructure Leadership including development of unit characteristics.
  • Supervises, directs, and manages the engineering department.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment and/or power plant environment
  • Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 15 years of power plant experience, including 7 years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer designation.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements, regulations, and reporting
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and personnel management skills including the ability to train and develop engineers and other technical personnel.
  • Knowledge of power plant instrument and control systems including combustion controls and interlock systems

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Has a good general understanding of the processes, systems, assets, resources, key personnel, and basic functions of the group.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering.
