We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Gallery Assistant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Manage the gallery desk and greet visitors on arrival
  • Provide excellent customer service, in response to personal, telephone and general email enquiries
  • Maintain a good understanding of current exhibitions and programs
  • Maintain and ensure the safety and integrity of the art works at all times, taking appropriate action(s) where necessary
  • Provide visitors with relevant information about current and forthcoming exhibitions and events
  • Ensure that visitor surveys are completed.
  • Represent the gallery at art fairs, events, and other opportunities.
  • Stay up - to- date on all art market trends and best practices and all other duties assigned by management and also available to work weekends.
  • Operate gallery routines, including opening and closing exhibitions
  • Keep a record of visitors and catalog sales
  • Provide administrative and general support to the Gallery Manager
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere in the gallery
  • Escalate concerns to the Gallery Manager; where necessary
