The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria (CHDF) is a non-profit organization that supports children and persons with Congenital Heart Disease popularly called Hole in the Heart in Nigeria. The foundation is envisioned to be the leading charity organization in Nigeria supporting the CHD cause.

Description
- This is a full-time role for a Fundraiser at CHDFNigeria located in Ogun State, with flexibility for remote work. As a Fundraiser, your primary responsibility is to organize events and activities that encourage donations to the charity.
- Your role involves increasing awareness of the charity and its cause, generating donations, and maintaining relationships with donors and funders.
- You will manage communication and events for donors, and occasionally work unsociable hours or travel to events to meet representatives from funding organizations.
Responsibilities
- Developing and executing new fundraising strategies through events, online advertising, and celebrity promotions.
- Approaching businesses, local authorities, and individuals to encourage donations.
- Researching grant-making organizations and applying for funding.
- Organizing and assisting with fundraising activities such as sponsored events, promotional events, house-to-house, and street collections.
- Managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information.
- Writing applications and mailshots using direct mailing to reach potential and current donors.
- Performing risk analysis and balancing time-cost ratios to focus on the most effective fundraising activities.
- Using specialist software to manage records, donations, and communications.
- Reporting on funding and donation income to trustees, members of the public, and charity supporters.
- Recruiting and coordinating volunteers.
- Raising awareness of the charity and its work at local and national levels through talks and media opportunities.
- Planning donation campaigns and events, ensuring effective communication to ensure their success.
- Keeping donors and funders informed about the use of their contributions.
- Overseeing corporate fundraising including employee giving and matched giving from employers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, or a related field. Candidates with a Master's degree in a relevant field without prior experience in charity fundraising will be considered.
- Strong decision-making skills and confidence in making strategic and operational decisions.
- Experience in successfully engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels across an organization.
- Proven ability to quickly establish credibility and manage and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly where they have differing requirements, demands, and measures of success.
- Good problem-solving and risk management skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a health-related non-profit environment.
- Proven experience in donor cultivation, grant writing, and managing fundraising events.
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrable experience in managing cross-organizational projects.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and meet ambitious project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Passionate about social justice and making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children and families in Nigeria.
- Budget management experience, including forecasting and planning.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills to be able to plan and prioritize work within a large program of activities with shifting priorities and to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent self-management skills to work independently using your initiative and being flexible and adaptable.
- Understanding and experience in monitoring and reporting on the impact of fundraising activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in event planning and knowledge of fundraising.
