Financial Assistant at Damien Foundation (DFB) Nigeria Project


Damien Foundation (DFB) Nigeria Project is a charitable Non-Governmental Medical Organization involved in Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control activities in Nigeria since early 90s. The foundation is very popular with her achievement in pioneering Multi-Drug Resistance Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment in the country. She initiated the MDR –TB treatment in collaboration with University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan in June 2010 and recorded a high treatment success rate.

In over 25 years of operation in Nigeria, the foundation has impacted lives of several Persons Affected with Leprosy (PALs) through free reconstructive surgeries, free prostheses, mobile clinics, social reintegration and social supports to both PALs and their families. Currently, Damien Foundation Nigeria covers a population of over 56 million across nine States (Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Kwara and Ondostates) with technical and financial supports in case detection and management in Tuberculosis and Leprosy. The main character of Damien Foundation is the quality of services, which are delivered in close partnership with the community and the Government.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Financial Assistant

Locations: Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo

Duties and Responsibilities of Finance Assistants

  • Update of financial spreadsheets with daily transactions on Quickbook
  • Preparation and payment of all necessary vouchers and journals
  • Tracking and reconciling bank statements
  • Adhere to the organization’s financial policies and procedures and ensuring compliance
  • Create, process and follow up on retirements
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Performing financial analysis and reporting
  • Ensuring financial documents are well stored and archived
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the finance Director
  • Assist the Finance Director in creating financial reports on a regular basis
  • Perform all other duties delegated by the finance director

Qualification / Education

  • HND / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration & Management or any other relevant background.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy
  • Relevant accounting certifications and the use of QuickBooks will be an added advantage
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools
  • Age: Not more than 45 years.
