ASATTAHIR International Foundation (AIF) is a non-governmental, non-partisan organization headquartered in Sokoto state. AIF is a credible humanitarian and development outfit and a front-liner with proven record and experience in responding to the health, economic, protection concerns and humanitarian needs of IDPs/Refugees, women, children, OVCs, displaced persons and vulnerable groups through research, advocacy, awareness raising, emergency response, family reunification, referral services, access creation to healthcare facilities, nutrition and WASH etc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:



Job Title: Finance Specialist

Location: Sokoto
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 1 month

Job Summary 

  • We are seeking an experienced Finance Specialist to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in NGO finance management, policy development, budgeting and at least expertise in QuickBooks software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement financial policies and procedures aligned with donor standards and best practices.
  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial management.
  • Restructure/develop a competitive salary scale template for AIF staff
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial management and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
  • Oversee annual budget preparation, monitoring, and control.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations, local laws, and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of NGO policy development, review, and implementation.
  • Familiarity with donor organizations' standards (e.g., USAID, EU, UN).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance management in NGO setting.
  • Proven expertise in QuickBooks software.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with financial auditing and compliance.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
