We are the leading supplier of New and Reconditioned Mini Labs in Singapore, Middle East and Africa and also supplying photographic equipment. As business to business partners with Canon, we represent them for Printing Solutions within Africa and Middle East.

Job Title: Field Service Technician
Locations: Lagos and Edo
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

  • We are looking to hire an experienced Field Service Technician to look after the service and maintenance needs of our customers.
  • As a Field Service Technician, you will be required to travel to client locations, install new equipment, respond to service requests.
  • In this role, you would be working on-site at customer locations to troubleshoot, maintain and repair printers and copiers.
  • After some on-the-job training, you would get to put your technical, mechanical and electrical skills to use every day in new and challenging situations while you interact with a wide variety of people, machines and settings.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responding to customer callouts and field dispatches.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machines to repair or replace worn or malfunctioning components and consumables.
  • Educate and train customers on replenishment of paper and toner, basic troubleshooting skills and easy fixes (for example, streaks on copies are often the result of dirty scanner glass, which is easily “fixed” without a service call)
  • Provide excellent customer service, listening carefully to customer concerns and addressing issues until customer is satisfied
  • Demonstrate how to use the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot any problems the customers are having.
  • Meet all of the appointments in a given day.
  • Respond quickly to customer problems.
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Document processes.
  • Closely work with Sales and Marketing counterparts to ensure product launch, exhibitions, events are well supported.
  • Update and maintain assigned machines per manufacturer specifications
  • Attend ongoing training events sponsored by company or machine manufacturers to stay up-to-date on the latest technology and repair options.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of tools and technology needed to complete repairs (we provide tools).
  • Meeting with the customer to determine the nature of the service or repair.
  • Create reports of the customers they serviced that day.
  • Follow all of the company's procedures.
  • Offering technical support.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with relevant recognized formal education.
  • Experience: 2 - 4 years
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Servers and networks.
  • Amazing problem solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose problems with equipment
  • Ability to travel and work according to a changing schedule.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Good communication and training skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Candidate should fall within the age bracket of 24 - 34 years
  • Must be resident of Benin state
  • Must be ready to travel to Lagos state for training.
  • Previous experience as a field engineer or similar role
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent Communication, Organizational and Operational skills
  • Professional appearance, excellent communication skills and right attitude
  • High level of technical knowledge and experience (2 years minimum) coupled with the ability to relate technical information to non-technical people at all levels.
  • Fair knowledge on Print Management solutions.
  • Functional knowledge and/or understanding of Canon products useful.
