We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Field Operations Supervisor (Mechanical, Electrical, PACO, Operations) - Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal
Location: Bonny, Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Start Date: 1st March 2024
Roles and Responsibilities
The personnel will be responsible for the following:
- Apply the emergency response procedure where and when necessary.
- Report and close out Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions
- Serves as a permit-to-work signatory and administers a safe system of work.
- Apply the Health Safety Security and Environment policy, and legislation applicable to crude oil transfer and export.
- Carry out first-line maintenance on pumps, motors, separators, and valves.
- Adhere to plant operational procedures.
- Execute daily communication and Shift handover.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance interventions plant isolation etc.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to execute planned activities.
- Collaborate with Plant operators to execute front-line maintenance activities in the plant.
- Supervise the activities of the frontline maintenance team.
- Troubleshooting of safety-critical equipment and control/safeguarding system.
- Supporting the production staff in maintaining facilities.
- Assist the maintenance team in coping with many activities to sustain asset integrity/equipment availability.
- Comply with HSE practises and procedures.
- Assist to ensure Technical Integrity and safe operation of new process & utility system to achieve the facility’s objectives.
- Identify any area of new facilities requiring Change Control and document the change proposal.
- Provide specifications for critical spare/or replacement with vendor details (e.g. Hard disc for compressor control, etc)
- Review operating/maintenance procedures under current reality and propose changes.
- Develop (Maintenance Job Routines) MJRs/maintenance procedures and work packs.
- Identify vendor support requirements for equipment maintenance.
- Provide technical support in repairing outstanding mal-functioning equipment (e.g. crude transfer pumps etc)
- Liaison with OEMs for trouble shooting, spare parts, field technical supports etc.
- Support the maintenance (operation) team in all trouble shooting exercises.
- Carry out maintenance routine activities in line with local and international company standards.
- Participate in equipment failure RCA (Root Cause Analysis), investigation and improvement initiatives.
- Participation in MFI (Management Facility Inspections) and HSE meetings
- Close out personal MFI actions Other assignments for continuous improvements (AMS process application: RCAs, MTO, MEC etc.) as exigent.
Work Cycle:
The work location is Bonny Oil and gas terminal) accessible via water and Air.
- The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
- There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule.
- The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
- There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
- Personnel may be required to work extended hours as the need arises.
Minimum Requirements
- OND / HND in Sciences / Engineering with 5 - 8 years of work experience as a field operator or maintenance technician in an oil and gas facility or SSCE/WAEC with a minimum of 10 years of work experience as a field operator in an oil and gas facility.
- Minimum of 10 years working in an oil and gas producing field location in any of the Mechanical, Electrical or PACO disciplines; 7 years experience for degree holders will be considered.
- Prior experience in an SPDC location should be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a team
- Ability to read and interpret process engineering flow schemes (PEFS)
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Problem-solving and good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Terminal Operations
- Knowledge of Process and Personal Safety
- Knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Skills (Added advantage):
- T_BOSIET certification
- Mechanical maintenance field supervisor should have basic knowledge/ skill in pump alignment, rotor balancing, clearance checks, machining operation, material selection, etc.
- PACO field supervisor must have competence in General instrumentation and 2 out of the following areas: Yokogawa DCS/SIS engineering and maintenance; Allen Bradley Systems engineering and maintenance; SMAR Systems engineering and maintenance; and DeltaV DCS engineering and maintenance.
- Experience in the maintenance of hydrocarbon and water processing equipment
- Electrical Maintenance Field Supervisor should be skilled in maintenance of HV motors, MOVs, switch gears, clink system & MCCs
- Electrical Maintenance Field Supervisor should be an appointed Competent person (SAEP) in Terminal Operations or other areas/ assets with high voltage installations and experienced in High Voltage Electrical Distribution Network
- Mechanical maintenance field supervisor should have the capacity to provide operations with engineering support to troubleshoot all rotating & static equipment problems and provide detailed analysis and recommendations for these problems.
