Job Title: Director, Physical Planning
Location: Plateau
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Director of Physical Planning of the University is
responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day running of the
University in terms of Physical Structures.
- The candidate will be responsible for implementation of the
University Master Plan, liaise with TETFUND to source for intervention
for the University, supervise all new structures and ensure for their
quality.
- Will advise the Vice Chancellor on issues above and design structures for Faculties and Departments based on their briefs.
Qualifications
- Candidates for the post of Director of Physical Planning must
possess a good honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Building
Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Urban and Regional
Planning or other related disciplines plus at least sixteen (16) years
of cognate experience, preferably in a University or in a top management
position in any appropriate large organization.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
- In addition, candidates must be fully registered member of
relevant professional and statutory bodies such as Nigerian Society of
Engineers (NSE) and COREN (for Engineers), CORBON and NIOB (for
Builders), NIA or ARCON (for Architects) etc. Other elevations in the
profession will be an advantage.
- Prospective candidates must maintain a high level of discipline,
prudence, competence through experience, strategy and adequate response
system, and strong accountability in the Physical Planning Directorate.
- Prospective candidate should be able to interpret the University
Master Plan, situate building substructures appropriately and show
evidence of understanding such.
- Prospective candidates must be competent in computer aided designs and controls.
Job Title: Deputy Director, Works
Location: Plateau
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Deputy Director of Works is the Deputy Chief Technical
Officer of the University and responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the
day-to-day running and maintenance of University buildings, roads,
water boreholes, electrical installations, vehicle maintenance,
equipment and other properties, including provision of services and
utilities for the well-being of the University.
Qualifications
- Candidates for the post of Deputy Director of Works must possess
a good honours degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building or other
related disciplines plus at least sixteen (16) years cognate experience,
preferably in a University or in a top Management position in any
appropriate large organization.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
- In addition, candidates must be fully registered member of
relevant professional and statutory bodies such as Nigerian Society of
Engineers (NSE) and COREN (for Engineers), CORBON and NIOB (for
Builders) etc. Othe ralevations in the profession will be an advantage.
- Prospective candidates must demonstrate competence through
experience, strategy e.t.c to maintain a high level of discipline,
prompt and adequate response system, prudence and strong accountability
in the Works Department.
- Prospective candidate will be expected to discuss a plan for
proactive maintenance culture for the University during the interview,
- Prospective candidates must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer aided designs and controls.
