Job Title: Fleet Manager

Job Summary
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of the company's fleet.
- Control and reduce operating costs, providing specialist knowledge relating to trucks management
- Improve the operational performance of the fleet, whilst minimizing the operative downtime.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain policies and processes to ensure the fleet operates effectively and efficiently, educating staff with the industry's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Management of our tracker provider to monitor and improve driver management, sharing this information with the Head of Transport and Management Team.
- Maintain records, proving that the fleet is compliant with regulations whilst demonstrating value for money.
- Analyze transport distribution methods and processes for optimal delivery of customer freight that meets established service and cost requirements.
- Facilitate timely daily, weekly, monthly truck technical inspection with the use of the truck checklist.
- Manage maintenance schedules to ensure that the optimum number of trucks are working at all times to meet the company's customer needs.
- Budget management of fleet repairs on costs and administrative costs, recognizing the need for value for money in compliance with Financial Regulations.
- Directly supervise and observe the loading of trucks to determine conformance to loading patterns and to prevent shifting or damage to materials or products during transit.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues and perform preventive maintenance.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing & frequency.
- Track trucks, fuel usage, and consumption rates to identify ways to maximize fuel economy and manage fuel card usage.
- Understand, embrace and apply the company culture of continuous improvement.
- Apply and record appropriate disciplinary actions where necessary.
Competence Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
- Experience in providing strategic and operational leadership of a commercial fleet.
- General knowledge in Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track trucks.
- Knowledge of minimizing the impact on business whilst conducting cyclical and incidental fleet repairs.
- A strong working knowledge of Nigeria fleet and transport legislation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of route planning and Driver management
Qualification/Experience
- HND/B.Sc. in Transport & Logistics Management or other related fields
- 5-10 years' cognate experience in a Logistics role
- Relevant professional certification in Transport in Nigeria. E.g. National Institute of Transport & Logistics is an added advantage
- Experience in FMCG or transportation industry.
- Experience of managing a fleet of commercial trucks of 100 or more
- Experience of compliance requirements for the transport industry.
- Experience of fleet telemetry/Truck tracking systems.
- Experience of fleet maintenance systems.
Job Title: Head of Transport & Logistics

Job Purpose
- The role will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day transportation operations of the company and directing major projects; supervise employees, delegating tasks accordingly, monitoring performance, and conducting regular follow-ups with business objectives.
- To optimize the transportation network from the inside, by constantly research and test software tools, management methodologies, and workflow processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for direction and oversight of the Company Transportation Division, including, but not limited to operations, maintenance, safety/compliance, equipment and personnel.
- Responsible for the justification, specification, selection and purchase of new trucks, trailers and other necessary equipment and systems.
- Responsible for managing assets and available business in such a way as to minimize operational expenses while maximizing equipment utilization.
- Supervise key terminal staff to monitor operations at the company truck terminals, ensuring workload is completed per customer expectations: efficiently, safely and compliant with all applicable regulations.
- Work with other stakeholders to determine staffing levels, job descriptions, and assist in the recruitment of drivers and support staff.
- Plan with Executive Management to determine strategic direction of the Transportation Division.
- Update and implement Divisional Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Ensure profitability by controlling costs and enhancing trip performance.
- Full responsibility for fleet maintenance and the mechanical workshops.
- Coordinate between NASCON transport and third party transporters to ensure truck availability at all times.
- Liaise with Sales and Finance departments to ensure the right rate is appropriately charged on services rendered by company transport.
- Coordinate and inspect the complete documentation including drivers and vehicle licenses.
- Review and report logistics/fleet performance against plans.
- Build good working relationship with Regulatory Agencies to ensure smooth operation of the fleet.

Job Title: Fleet Analyst

Job Summary
- To collaborates with the Head of Transport and Fleet Manager to create a strategic plan for performance improvement measures to maximize the use of the companyТs trucks.
- Continuously explore opportunities to reduce the operating costs by making the companyТs truck more efficient and effective.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensured strict compliance to the daily maintenance schedule of trucks in order to improve operational efficiency.
- Construct all emergency response plans and perform safety inspections and audits
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
- Plan journey routes, design road hazard map and meet delivery schedules
- Track vehicle and fuel usage and consumption rates; ensure that potential problems or fuel misuse are raised to management.
- Track vehicle registration and insurance and work with the Procurement Unit to ensure these are always renewed in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with recommendations for action and continuous improvement
- To ensure that the truck is not used for any illegal activities or hauling of passengers by the driver.
- Prepare Fleet report to your manager on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- To ensure dispatch of all loaded trucks under his/her control and track its movement until it reaches its destination.
- To be checking/Tracking the movement of your truck using the control facility to confirm your telephone conversation with the driver.
- Ensure that the trucks have all the safety elements required by both State and Federal law.
- Conduct strict pre and post journey inspection with the HSE Personnel.
- Apply and record appropriate disciplinary actions where necessary.
- Report any HSE issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately.
