Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Petrochemical (PDH)

Location: Akwa Ibom

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Petrochemical - Propane Dehydrogenation Plant - PDH.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving electrical systems and equipment within our petrochemical facilities.
  • This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical engineering principles, a keen attention to safety and compliance standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design and Engineering:

  • Develop detailed electrical engineering designs, specifications, and plans for petrochemical projects, including power distribution systems, instrumentation, control systems, and lighting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NEC, API, and IEEE, in all electrical designs.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protective device coordination studies to optimize electrical system performance and reliability.

Installation and Commissioning:

  • Oversee the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality and adherence to design specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to resolve any technical issues or challenges encountered during the implementation phase.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Develop preventive maintenance programs and procedures for electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize reliability.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments to identify and resolve electrical faults, failures, and performance issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations as needed, and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards and risks.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical reports, throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare progress reports, project updates, and technical presentations for internal stakeholders and management as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of [10] years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the petrochemical or related industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, LUXICON/DIALUX) and MS Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, API, IEEE) applicable to the petrochemical industry.
