Director of Health Services at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is the government agency with the mandate to coordinate the surveillance, detection and response to infectious disease outbreaks. Over the last three years, NCDC has deployed a new tool for disease surveillance. The Surveillance, Outbreak Response Management and Analysis System (SORMAS) is a system jointly developed between the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) to improve disease surveillance as well as detection and management of outbreaks and thus strengthen the public health service in Nigeria.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Director of Health Services

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full time

Role Description

  • The Deputy Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the public health laboratory services, including training, home care, medication administration, case management, and healthcare.
  • They will collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective response and management of laboratory.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Medical Laboratory Science
  • Experience in public health laboratory services
  • Emergency expert response to the outbreaks
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and plent leadership and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • ECOWAS Regional Rapid Response Team (ERRRT).
