Job Title: Design Structural Engineer (Registered with Professional Body in Nigeria)

Position Overview

• We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Design Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structures, ensuring their stability, safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• The ideal candidate should be registered with the necessary professional body in Nigeria, possessing a deep understanding of structural engineering principles, and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design structural engineering solutions for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Conduct structural analysis and calculations using computer-aided design (CAD) software, applying engineering principles and best practices.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, and other professionals to discuss project specifications, resolve design issues, and ensure seamless coordination.
• Utilize structural analysis software and tools to simulate and evaluate the performance of various structural components and systems.
• Stay up to date with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and relevant codes and standards to incorporate them into design processes and improve efficiency.
• Review and approve structural engineering drawings and designs produced by junior engineers or external consultants to ensure quality and compliance.
• Participate in project meetings, provide technical expertise and guidance, and contribute to the successful execution of projects within timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with the construction team during the construction phase to address any design-related challenges, provide clarifications, and ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• 3 - 10 years work experience.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in design work and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Proactive attitude towards professional development, staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
• Professional registration with the necessary body (e.g., Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN).
• Proven experience as a Design Structural Engineer, with a focus on designing and analyzing structures for construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, standards, and construction practices in Nigeria.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative and practical solutions.

Salary
N150,000 / month.
