DeepWater Consultancy & Engineering Services Limited is an Independent Oil and Gas Subsea technology, Pipeline management and Field development engineering consultancy company with offices in Aberdeen, UK and Lagos, Nigeria.

Job Title: Deputy Engineering Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor the project team's overall process and operations from conceptualization until completion
  • Ensure adherence to the client's specifications, within the budget's goals, and the required deadlines.
  • To have the overall responsibility for the timely delivery of engineering work that is compliant with the requirements of the contract(s).
  • Manage all discipline-related engineering activities, review and approval (internal and where applicable Client approval) of deliverables, interdisciplinary checks and assures compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Review, provision of comments, elaborations and recommendations and approval of Engineering task procedures and documents in a timely manner to ensure they meet the needs of the client and comply with contractual requirements.
  • Handle daytoday decisions in the execution of projects; regarding engineering activities. 
  • Coordinate decisions with the CTO/CEO.
  • Interface on projects between the Engineering team and Client(s)
  • Ensure that the Engineering team is informed of the requirements of specific confidentiality and secrecy agreements.
  • The DEM shall ensure that the work and deliverables of the engineering team and formats for drawings & documents meets the requirements as per the Quality Plan.
  • Control the engineering budget for the project.
  • Ensure that the Engineering team on projects is adequately managing and addressing technical assurance and integrity issues.
  • Manage the Lead Engineers to schedule and achieve the milestones.
  • Communicate with subcontractors to ensure that they meet their obligations.
  • Provide technical and Engineering support and guidance to offshore or onsite teams.

Job Qualifications
Education and Training:

  • M.Sc. in any major Engineering discipline, from a recognized University.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) skills or certification.
  • Member - Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), or working towards it.
  • Registered Engineer - Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), or in waiting.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Senior projects or operations Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of RAM analysis, FMECA and/or Functional Safety engineering.
  • A valid offshore survival certificate will be an advantage as this role requires offshore visits.
  • A valid comprehensive offshore medical report will be an advantage as this role requires offshore visits.
  • Certifications and Licenses in other relevant engineering areas.
  • Broad Knowledge of P&IDs, PFD, ROV use - It’s functionalities and applications, Field Support Vessel types, and Platform types. Flowlines & Risers.
  • Experience with MS Office & AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
  • Sound knowledge of technology on pipelines & Installations and Subsea structures.
