Delta State University Vacancies for a Librarian and a Bursar
Delta State University was established on 30th April, 1992 to encourage
the advancement of learning throughout the State and Nigeria at large
and to hold out to all persons, without distinction of race, creed or
sex the opportunity of acquiring a liberal education.
The Governing Council of Delta State University hereby announces that
the position of the Bursar will be vacant by the 13th day of May, 2016.
In accordance with the Edict establishing the Delta State University,
Council wishes to commence the process for appointment of Bursar.
Consequently, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified
persons with requisite qualifications and cognate experience for
consideration for the position below:
Job Title: Bursar
Location: Delta
Duties
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be
responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration
and control of the financial affairs of the University.
Qualification and Experience
- The University Bursar, who is the Head of the Bursary
Department, should have a Bachelor of Science Degree or its equivalent
in Accountancy qualification.
- In addition the candidate should possess ACCA or ACA or ACMA
plus 23 years post-qualification experience, most of which must be
within a University Bursary or similar institution.
- The candidate must also possess a record of good health.
- He/She must possess adequate leadership experience as well as high degree of competence, integrity and dependability.
- The person must be computer literate.
- Candidate must not be more than 60 years of age at the time of assumption of office.
Salary Scale
New Consolidated Salary Structure CONUSS 15.
Conditions of Service
- The appointment shall be for a single tenure of Five (5) years
on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the Letter of
Appointment.
- Other allowances and fringe benefits are as applicable in the Nigerian University System.
Job Title: Librarian
Location: Delta
Duties
The University Librarian is the Head and Officer in charge of the
University Library, and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for
the administration of the University Library and co-ordination of all
Library services in the University and its Campuses, Colleges,
Faculties, Departments, Institutes and other teaching or research units
Qualification and Experience
- Candidate for the Post of the University Librarian must possess
Doctoral degree plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Librarianship or a
Doctoral degree in Library Science from a recognized university and
membership of relevant professional bodies
- Interested candidate should possess at least Twenty-One (21)
years post-qualification experience with adequate publications in
reputable National and International journals.
- He/she must possess adequate leadership experience as well as high degree of competence, integrity and dependability.
- The person must be computer literate.
- Candidates below the rank of Deputy Librarian need not apply.
- The candidate must not be more than 60 years of age at the time of assumption of office.
