All our solutions are accompanied by comprehensive maintenance services, to ensure the solutions run 365 days a year. We are currently operational in Ghana and Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position of:
Job Title: Engineering Manager, Field Service
Location: Lagos
Descriptions
- We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to manage the operation and maintenance of our sites, resulting in a 99% uptime or better. And ensuring our customer experience is world class, resulting in a Net Promoter Score of 70 or above.
- As an Engineering Manager, Field Service, you will build, lead, and inspire Daystar Power’s Customer Success team. In addition, you will spearhead the implementation of best-in-class Success processes, to ensure customer happiness as Daystar Power scales.
- You should enjoy digging into analytics to guide data-driven decision making, but also be comfortable engaging directly with key customers as the ‘face of Daystar Power’. You will be based in Lagos and report directly to Daystar Power Group’s Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Maintenance:
- Ensure uptime of 99% across all sites
- Remotely monitor and track each site’s performance
- Schedule and execute site maintenance activities
- Supervise site operation to detect and resolve issues swiftly
- Manage spare parts and repairs as needed
- Execute warranty claims on equipment with early failure
- Manage site expenses to ensure profitability
Customer Experience:
- Ensure a net promoter score of 70 or above across all customers
- Research, design, and implement a mixture of “tech-touch” and “people-touch” processes to ensure we maintain customer delight as we continue to rapidly scale our customer base
- On-boarding of new customers to ensure smooth transition into using daystar power’s products and services
- Create and operate a call centre
- Manage contract obligations between Daystar Power and client:
- Implement and continually optimize the use of a CRM to capture key metrics that guide Success activities
- Produce comprehensive Success reports and analyses for senior management and customers
General:
- Research and deploy new technology onto sites to improve uptime, reduce operating costs and increase Net Promoter Score.
- Develop a Customer Success team hiring plan and define the ideal team structure; then, continue the build out of a best-in-class Success organization and culture
- Ensure the Success team has tools and processes in place for maximum effectiveness
- Collaborate with multiple Daystar Power sub-teams (e.g., Sales, Project, Legal) to coordinate smooth customer transitions between the sub-teams and promote a seamless customer experience
- Research new best practices in the developing field of Customer Success and implement these key trends into Daystar Power’s Success initiatives
- Provide input on the design and prioritization of new features and services based on a thorough understanding of our clients, technology, and competition
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Management (MBA) or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years direct experience managing relationships with business customers, preferably with a software product , demonstrated track record of managing and nurturing B2B customer relationships and retaining accounts in a start-up context, a strong plus.
- Prior experience in a management position on a Customer Success team.
- Prior experience in a management position on a Field Service team.
- Prior knowledge of the solar or power industry a plus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and extraordinary oral and written communication skills required. Applicant materials will be assessed according to this requirement.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously at various stages.
- Comfortable representing Daystar Power at industry events and with existing clients.
- Comfortable with technology and technical products.
- Demonstrated proficiency and comfort with data analytics and Business Intelligence software suites, a strong plus.
- Self-starter with enthusiasm for a fast-paced, high-performing start-up work environment.
- Experience living and working in an emerging market is a plus.
- French language proficiency is a plus.

Job Title: Customer Account Specialist
Location: Lagos
Descriptions
- We are looking to engage a competent and experienced Customer Account Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer experience to our clients, including performance reports, service calls, fault clearing, etc.
Job Responsibilities
System/Site Monitoring:
- Maintains schedule for preventive maintenance based on commissioning dates and company standards.
- Maintains schedule for routine site visits.
- Collects site data - run hours, fuel consumption, grid supply, etc.
- Client grid bill management - receipt and payment.
- Sends monthly invoice and tracks completion of Job Completion Certificate.
- Monitors payment from clients.
- Ensures constant site communication.
- Monitors site event ticket work flow, from issuing to closure.
System Reporting:
- Collects system performance information (Gen/Grid availability, PV Yield, Battery charge/discharge, etc.) from inverter platforms daily.
- Prepares monthly report for each site per client SLA.
Customer Interaction:
- Monthly phone calls/emails (depending on client preference) to clients to receive feedback on system performance.
- Clients’ first point of contact to the Daystar Power Service Team – fault reports, service calls, comments, questions, etc.
- Interprets clients’ specific contracts to answer basic questions like when payment is due, when reports are due, services provided by Daybreak Power Solutions at specific site, etc.
- Collate results of NPS survey conducted by Service team.
Database/Inventory Management:
- Regular update of customer contact records.
- Monitoring and renewal of data package for inverter.
- Monitoring of equipment replacement as applicable.
Requirements
- Relevant Higher Education Diploma preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) - report writing and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; work well in a team environment.
- Highly organized multitasker who works well in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience handling customer interaction is a plus.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Description
- We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design and fabrication of enclosures, wire harnesses and mounting racks.
- You should enjoy digging working in a fast-paced environment and digging into details while staying focused on the goal. You must be able to balance cost, quality and time when managing a project. You will be based in Lagos and report directly to Daystar Power Group’s Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawing standards.
- Follows departmental processes relating to management of designs.
- Responsible for identifying mechanical part numbers in accordance with the material finishes.
- Responsible for creation of 2D drawings to allow manufacture or purchase.
- Responsible for production of Customer Procurement (CP) drawings for new products.
- Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner.
- Ensures the mechanical design output fits in with all other aspects of the design.
- Mechanical design of enclosures, wire harness, and solar mounting racks (roof top and ground mount) using Autodesk Inventor or similar software
- Fabrication of prototypes which will eventually go into mass production.
- Structural analysis of roof tops, walls and ground structures for mounting of equipment .
- Responsible for the specification compliance of designs.
- Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost.
- Ensures design files and information are kept up to date, and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
