Description
- Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent Data Analytics Manager.
- The candidate will support a variety of tasks related to renewable energy data analysis with a focus on hybrid power.
- He or she must have strong research, data analysis, consolidation, and writing skills as well as experience in compiling and manipulating large data sets for analysis and recommendations for operational effectiveness.
- We are seeking hard working, motivated, and well-organized individuals with a focus on continuous improvement to exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize existing monitoring tools to analyse the performance of Daystar Power’s hybrid solar power systems with previous periods and to plan performance levels.
- Analyse metrics such as solar yield, battery charge and discharge times, diesel consumption, grid consumption, generator uptime, and others.
- Track remediation actions and analyse and report on their impact.
- In conjunction with the finance team, analyse the profitability impacts of alternative system solutions.
- Put forward recommendations and guidance for sales engineering and service teams to implement in their work processes in order to close the gap between actual and planned performance.
- Conduct predictive analytics to identify power systems where preventative maintenance and trouble shooting should be conducted to minimize downtime and operating costs.
- Conduct analysis of portfolio performance across various metrics.
- Conduct data driven investigations and root cause analysis to identify the reasons for underperformance in underperforming systems.
- Develop remediation actions for the operations team to execute in order to improve underperforming systems.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mathematics & Statistics.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 - 10 years professional experience required, ideally with a data analytics background
Competency and Skills Requirements:
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, financial reporting software and advanced financial modelling
- Excellent analytical, strategic, planning and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Language Proficiency:
- English (with excellent communication skills and accurate reporting skills).
Character:
- Proactive self-starter and pays attention to details.
- Ability to work well in interdepartmental teams.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
- Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
