We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Quality Control Officer Location: Ohafia, Abia Job Status: Permanent Reports to: Production Manager Main Objective

  • To help the company to achieve quality standards during the production of products.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure products meet acceptable quality standards.
  • Ensure that production and manufacturing lines perform efficiently and in line with Industry Quality standards.
  • Devise ways of improving the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods.
  • Maintains computerized scale system by keeping units operational and current with formulations; monitoring and verifying records.
  • Maintains factory processes and procedures to standard by using statistical methods for monitoring and charting; notifying production officers of noncompliance.
  • Prepares experimental design projects by mixing test batches in laboratory banbury or mill method.
  • Releases materials by evaluating all results and visual inspection methods; determining status of non-shippable or usable material.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintains stock of forms and spare parts by verifying inventory of items; notifying production manager when items are needed.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.
  • Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to ascertain the products meet the required quality.
  • Any other duties delegated by the CEO.
Qualification and Skills
  • Proven Working Experience of at least 2 years in Palm Oil Industry.
  • Solid Technical Background with understanding or hands-on experience in a Palm Oil Mill.

  • To set up, maintain and operate machinery to assist with manufacturing, packaging and other steps along the production line.
Responsibilities
  • Work along an assembly path performing a specialized task that helps move the product towards the consumer market.

  • To supervise the machine operators in the daily mill process operations which include process control, quality control, production control, water treatment, effluent treatment, occupational safety and housekeeping matters, adherence to company and industry standards, adherence to safety rules and regulations.

  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Keep records of their output and compare it with the production schedule.
  • Prepare daily report and ensure Machine Operator’s log book is filled for proper shift handover.
  • Issue Permit to Work for maintenance crew before any maintenance work is done in the processing plant.
  • Ensure LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) system is properly implemented in the factory.
  • Comply to all the quality standard practiced in the mill i.e. QMS 9001, OHSAS 18001 & EMS 14001.

  • To ensure the achievement of Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) throughout, CPO and PKO recovery efficiency and product quality targets.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure daily production targets are met (FFB processing, CPO Production & Kernel Production).
  • Check daily production yields i.e. OER (Oil Extraction Rates) and KER (Kernel Extraction Rates) and estimate FFB balance.
  • Ensure daily processing losses for oil and kernels are below the maximum limits.
  • Ensure prompt action is taken when processing losses exceed the standard and provide adequate explanation for any deviation from the limits.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Keep records of their output and compare it with the production schedule.
