Job Summary
- The Nigerian Stock Exchange (The Exchange) serves the largest economy in Africa, and is championing the development of Africa’s financial markets.
- The Exchange offers listing and trading services, licensing services, market data solutions, ancillary technology services, and more. It is an open, professional and vibrant exchange, connecting Nigeria, Africa and the world. The Special Assistant (SA) will provide executive support to the CEO of the Exchange.
- The job holder will also be the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees a broad variety of administrative tasks for the CEO including: composing and preparing correspondence, arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas
- Provides support for the CEO regarding advocacy with the Government (Executive, Legislative and Judiciary at the federal, state and local government levels) on various market friendly policies
- Provides support in preparation for internal and external meetings; attend meetings and follow-up on meeting action points on behalf of the CEO (within and outside the country)
- Provides members of the Executive Management team leverage in moving projects forward by assisting with information gathering, communicating with different parties, developing and monitoring plans, keeping track of responsibilities etc. Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the Office of the CEO and departments; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support with senior management staff
- Drafts and disseminate correspondence including letters, memos and emails
- Prepares briefings for meetings, conferences, press appearances, etc
- Manages special projects assigned by the CEO
- Maintains confidentiality on all work issues and opportunities
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Summary

- The Exchange offers listing and trading services, licensing services, market data solutions, ancillary technology services, and more. It is an open, professional and vibrant exchange, connecting Nigeria, Africa and the world. The Department is within the Legal and Regulation Division of The Exchange.
- The Exchange needs a consummate legal professional with a strong personality, good people management skills and the ability to work as a team player to support the Division and assist it to contain costs.
- The individual would be required to have a thorough understanding of The Exchange’s policies, overall mission and strategy, as well as a strong legal background, including stellar academic credentials. This Legal Manager reports to the Head of Legal Department of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and advising on legal documentation of all types, including simple and very complex contracts
- Providing enterprise wide legal support on a myriad of issues
- Providing legal opinions and advice as requested to other employees of The Exchange and Council. Providing support to the Council and Council Committees
- Providing company secretarial services to The Exchange and its subsidiaries. Managing The Exchange’s litigation docket, including liaising with external counsel to formulate litigation strategy and monitor implementation of same
- Minimizing the exposure of The Exchange and its subsidiaries to legal liabilities. Ensuring compliance of the enterprise with all applicable laws, and providing sound legal advice on legal obligations and implications on the enterprise’s business conduct, transactions and policies
- Drafting documents
- Supervising junior attorneys
- Participating as representative of the legal function in Committees and Projects across the enterprise
- Relating as one of the representatives of The Exchange with various Government agencies, including The Exchange’s regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria
- Developing the required KPI’s for the Department and Council Secretariat to ensure the delivery of 1st class services
- Ensuring KPI’s are met
- Ensuring cost effective service provision for all services provided by the Legal Department and Council Secretariat, in accordance with SLAs
Qualifications and Experience
- A law degree (minimum of 2:1) with 7-10 years’ experience and at least 1 year of managerial experience
- Master's Degree in Law
- Knowledge of intellectual property and employment law.

Job Title: Team Lead, Deal Origination & Retention

Key Responsibilities
- Prospect companies to bring them to list on The Exchange’s Boards – ASEM, Main Board and Premium Board
- Market and sell various products & services of the NSE to prospective and existing listed companies to increase the listing value proposition
- Develop, and maintain trusted relationships with the leadership and executive level of listed companies, e.g. CEO, CFO, and Board Members
- Promote listed company interface with The Exchange through participation at “bell ringing” ceremonies, “Facts behind the Figures” and attendance at relevant NSE events
- Develop expertise in assigned industry sector(s) to enhance marketing and relationship management
- Understand the business needs and operations of the potential and listed companies’ community
- Contribute to the achievement of listing sales goals and retention of revenue
- Through pro-active relationship management, identify new products / incremental revenue opportunities
- Present to industry associations on capital markets and listing related issues
- Respond to enquiries from prospective and listed companies
- Organize periodic forums with listed companies as determined by market conditions and The Exchange’s business imperatives
- Work closely with the Product Management team and other teams to provide market intelligence on ongoing product and service development
- Generally act as the main point of contact for listed companies with The Exchange
Qualifications And Experience
- Minimum of Bachelors degree in Business Admin / Finance / Accountancy / Law / Banking or other related discipline
- Minimum 10 years client facing experience in the Capital Markets / Investment Banking/ Asset Management / Financial Services / manufacturing / commerce / agricultural / transport / telecoms or oil and gas sectors
- MBA, professional (CIS) and other post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage
