their students in order to encourage them to undertake further musical
studies, such as joining a school orchestra or band.
- Responsible for teaching instrumental techniques, scales, sight
reading and music theory, the music teachers will help pupils to prepare
for music examinations, auditions and live performances.
- Some might even teach students about recording software.

instrument with a high level of proficiency, although you'll need to
learn additional instruments during your undergraduate studies.
Qualifications
- In addition to musical instrument proficiency, a strong
background in music theory and musicianship and basic skills, music
teachers must also have the ability to work well with, and relate to,
children of all ages.
- In order to be a successful music teacher, you should also
continue your own musical development and participate in musical
ensembles during your free time, continuously teach yourself new
techniques and develop new teaching methods to help improve and refine
your skills on a continuous basis.

- You may need to participate in extracurricular activities or
work after school hours to assist students who need extra help.
Sometimes, you may have to deal with children who have behavioral
disorders or developmental or learning disabilities.
