Job Title: Corporate and Commercial Lawyer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing contracts and relative documents for new & ongoing business transactions.
  • Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
  • Responsible for the legal affairs management of the company and providing legal consultant services.
  • Protect the company against legal risks and violations.
  • Ensure onboarding and training of new business partners, and reinforce with existing business partners, to help drive value, discipline and assist business partner understanding of risk management and mitigation involved in the contract negotiation process.
  • Develop expertise in relevant legal regimes, including data privacy laws and industry standards and intellectual property, in order to facilitate regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Provide general legal advisory in company legal affairs and disputes.
  • Establish company legal management and contract management framework. Analyze, report & manage legal risks for business lines including (but not limited to) core-tech, financial-related agreements.
  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing contracts and relative documents for new & ongoing business transactions.
  • Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification
  • Nigerian qualified lawyer with a minimum of Two (2) year post-call experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and to handle high levels of responsibility.
  • Flexibility to take on a variety of different tasks at different levels of the business.
  • Keen team player with demonstrable ability to contribute to the development of the Company.
  • Astute, commercially aware and highly motivated.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
