Job Title: Prep Cook

Location: Lagos

Overview

  • Assist in the production of approved menu items.
  • They will perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
  • This cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen.
  • The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes as instructed by the Head Chef.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a prep cook
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills

 

 

Job Title: Cook

Location: Lagos

Overview

  • We are looking to hire an excellent Cook that will follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals according to the approved menu.
  • They must be adept in moving around the kitchen and great at multitasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.

Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Work closely with the Head chef to achieve excellence in meal executions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a great presentation of dishes and extreme attention to detail.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check the quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Very good communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina

 

 

 

Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

  • We are looking to hire an even temperament leader that will organize the kitchen’s activities, be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers'ensuring high quality and contentment.

Responsibilities

  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring variety and quality of the servings
  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Be fully in charge of hiring, managing, and training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Estimate the staff’s workload and compensations
  • Maintain records of payroll and attendance for Kitchen staff
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND with at least 4 years work experience.
  • Proven experience as Head Chef
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
