Job Title: Contract Administrator

Location: Lagos / Port Harcourt, Rivers

Functionally reports to: Legal & Compliance Manager
Contract Type: 1 Year

Job Description

  • We are looking to engage a Contract Administrator who will assist the Legal Compliance Manager with preparing, reviewing, processing, analyzing, and tracking contracts, revisions, and contractual correspondence to optimize operational performance and minimize risk.
  • Maintain registers tracking payments, delivery deadlines, change orders, claims, delays, and agreement expiration dates.
  • Generate reports on the status of existing agreements; participate and minute pre-bid and project meetings.
  • Ensure members of the project team and management understand and utilize contracts properly.
  • Review insurance requirements with the insurance carrier(s) and distribute certificates of insurance as appropriate.
  • Assist with the certification of works and awarding completion certificates; ensure orderly closeout of contracts(s).
  • Maintain compliance with contracts; ensure alignment with the project team on contract administration needs, objectives, and requirements.
  • Review contracts for ambiguities, identify potential contractual risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Interface with the project team, internal departments, and external clients/suppliers/vendors on matters such as technical requirements, cost, performance, progress assessment, payments, reporting, and change orders.
  • Support in negotiation of claims and disputes with external clients/suppliers/vendors.
  • Ensure written communications between the company and external clients/suppliers/vendors are consistent with terms and conditions in agreements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar field.
  • 3+ years of related experience within the oil & gas or construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Good writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Tech-savvy with Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time, and handle deadlines and interruptions while ensuring work is complete and accurate.
  • Basic knowledge and comprehension of accounting, supply chain, and legal principles pertaining to contracts.
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies and errors, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
