Grand Cereals Limited (GCL), a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, is an integrated foods company whose primary activity is the creation of superior value from local raw materials to produce and deliver superior quality brands in the animal feed, edible oils, breakfast cereals, pet food and other intermediate and consumer cereals products to Nigeria and West Africa markets.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Compliance Officer

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Monitor laws and regulations with possible impact on company business processes, develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Conducts interviews, scrutinizes details, and asks questions to make sure employees make every effort to stay compliant across a company's various departments
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Revise procedures, reports for continuous improvement and simplification. periodically to identify non-conformity issues
  • Support/Lead the drafting, modification and implementation company policies
  • Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
  • When compliance problems arise, conducts investigations to discover the roots of the issue
  • Stays informed about environmental standards and makes sure a company operates within those standards. Help design programs that improve compliance in environmental, ethical, and other areas
  • Communicates confidentially with employees and addresses any concerns they have about ethical or other compliance matters
  • Review communications such as company external communication (averts) to ensure there are no violations of standards or regulations.

Qualifications

  • BSc / BA in Law, Finance, Business Administration or disciplines related field to specific compliance industry
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Minimum of 2 years of compliance experience
  • Good knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
