Cinematographer (Communications and Advocacy for Social Impact) at the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC)


The Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) is Africa's first national institutionalized behavioural initiative. We support governments and stakeholders in making behaviorally informed decisions and generating evidence for impactful interventions in key areas: Global Health, Education, Innovative Digital Solutions, Agriculture, Climate and Food Security, Poverty, Livelihoods, and Jobs, Governance, Gender Inclusion

Initiated by the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) in 2017, the PIC was launched in October 2021 after the success of the interim Policy Innovation Unit (PIU). We provide evidence-driven, contextually relevant, and sustainable solutions to development issues through Behavioral Diagnostics, HumanCentered Design, Sustainable Delivery.

Job Title: Cinematographer (Communications and Advocacy for Social Impact)

Overview

  • Whether it is redesigning governance to eradicate hunger or ending poverty through innovative digital solutions, we are excited to engage a passionate & young filmmaker, cinematographer, and video editor with an intensive & solid 4 years of experience for a variety of films who wants to contribute to our vision of delivering better policies and innovative solutions for social impact.

  • During this 6 months program, you will be able to see the direct outputs of your work while navigating through your journey of changing the world.

Your Role

  • Do you have an experience that makes our mission meaningful to you personally? As a Management Associate (master's degree holder) or a Management Executive (bachelor's degree holder) at the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC), you will have the chance to contribute to our initiatives through engaging, meaningful work assignments.
  • You'll work across different thematic areas in the organisation including Global Health, Education, Innovative Digital Solutions, Agriculture, Climate and Food Security, Poverty, Livelihoods, and Jobs, Governance, and Gender Inclusion. Job Responsibilities

  • Production of films and media content ranging from Short Films, Feature Films, TV Commercials, TV Shows, and Documentaries.
  • Oversee film directing, cinematography & editing.
  • Conduct thorough research on industry-related topics to ensure the accuracy and relevance of content
  • Manage email marketing campaigns by creating impactful images and videos
  • Support the branding process, website redesign, social media and multimedia communications
  • Supporting internal communications.
  • Monitor and analyse website traffic, engagement metrics, and user behaviour to improve content performance
  • Collaborate with our technical team to develop content strategies and campaigns that align with our brand and target audience.
  • Creating engaging video scripts and collaborating with the video editing team
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content creation

Requirements

  • A graduate Degree
  • Available for a full-time internship for 6 months
  • Minimum of 4 years experience as a Videography/Cinematography or similar role
  • Have a strong passion for creating commercials, documentaries, and short films.
  • Ability to advance organizational mission by creating compelling visual strategies to increase reach and impact.
  • Enthusiastic about a career in videography / Cinematography for social impact
  • Comfortable working under deadline pressure.
  • Proficient in software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
