Job Title: Chief Technology Officer

Role Summary

  • Asseco Nigeria is seeking a Chief Technical Officer, who will be a seasoned professional in software development and implementation and who will be a member of the company’s Management Team.
  • The candidate must have a solid track record in handling the full lifecycle of complex IT projects, from business analysis, to system architecture, software development, testing, implementation, integration as well as solution maintenance & support.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Asseco Nigeria technical team in software design, development, testing, implementation, integration and support.
  • Taking executive decisions with Management in terms of the company’s technological requirements.
  • Responsible for the company’s IT infrastructure as well as licensing.
  • Responsible for the company’s relationship with OEMs and other software providers. ▪ Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
  • Supporting the sales team in the technical sales process by ensuring that the company’s technical resources are adequate and available for demos, POCs and/or presentations.
  • Engaging with the Executive Management with value propositions to drive development of the company’s IT footprint on its market.
  • Providing technical advice to customers on all aspects of the installation and use of computer systems and networks, during and after the sale.
  • Networking with existing customers and other IT experts in order to maintain links and promote additional products and upgrades.
  • Managing own diary in order to organize and prioritize monthly, weekly and daily goals;
  • Actively contributing to regular and adhoc meetings and updating Executive Management.
  • Identifying opportunities across the industries covered and prioritizing among them to achieve best results.
  • Ensuring that technical resources meet the company’s short and long-term needs.
  • Defining the goals for research and development and implementing them.
  • Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all services.
  • Supervising the support function of the company for solutions delivered to customers within set SLAs, in order to fulfill contractual obligations and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and driving the delivery of the company’s IT projects to the market.
  • Managing technology budgets and timeframes.
  • Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards and set policies.
  • Acting as a leader, manager and mentor to technical team members.

Requirements

  • M.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering and/or a related field. A higher relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of successful work experience as a software developer, leader of a software development team, in a reputable IT company.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development tools, source code control tools and big data and other technologies.
  • Significant experience in cybersecurity, software development best practices, knowledge of code review and pentesting.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, development practices, software architecture principles, requirements and interfaces, and software systems engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to multitask, to focus and to deliver results.
  • Good communication skills and outstanding team spirit.
  • Experience in DevSecOps.
  • Experience in Agile software development.
  • Candidates must have a good understanding of the industry, solution providers, technologies wide range of software development languages, full software development lifecycle as well as cybersecurity.
  • Ability to speak foreign languages is a plus.
  • Knowledge of system frameworks and software development processes.
  • Experience creating and maintaining databases.
  • Experience with systems deployed on Unix/Linux/Solaris environments.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, showcasing initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent demonstrations and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work within local and international (project/virtual) teams.
