We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund. We serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

Job Title: Nigeria Government Relations and Security Coordinator

About the Role
- We often work in remote places where local dynamics can affect our ability to serve farmers. Given this, we prioritise building relationships with local authorities and invest in the safety, security and well-being of our team - who are our greatest asset.
- The GRS-Cowill report to theGovernment Relations Analyst based in Abuja.You willalso workcloselywith the Nigeria Country Lead based in Minna, and remotely with the Global Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Lead based in Nairobi, Kenya.You willdemonstrate an understanding of government structures, have a track-record of managing projects and relationships independently, and be prepared to travel frequently within Niger State.
- Our Nigeria team is looking for Government Relations&Security Coordinator (GRS-Co), who will be the primary contact for the local Ministry of Agriculture and other government officials, traditional leaders and external partners, further establishing our program in Nigeria. The GRS-Co will alsoplay a key role in interfacingwith security officials and professionals and strengthening our arrangements on-the-ground, to ensure that our operations can run smoothly with reduced risks to our staff and clients.
Responsibilities
External stakeholder management and partnerships:
- Engage partners and government officials with a view to deepening and broadening One Acre Fund's state and local government networks in Nigeria.
- Support the scoping, development and management of program partnerships, with support from manager.
- Produce communications materials to engage important contacts and keep them informed of our work, including quarterly reports, briefing notes, and official written correspondence.
- Manage One Acre Fund's database of important contacts and interactions in Nigeria.
Risk Monitoring and Analysis:
- Track and managerisks affecting field operations in the places where we operate.
- Support political and regulatory risk monitoring systems in Nigeria, and implement related projects to better respond to them.
- Work with Field Operations, Impact teams, and community contacts to scope out risks and assess their severity andimplications.
- Train One Acre Fund staff on security-related matters and best practices for working with government officials.
Safety and Security Management:
- Provide HSS advice and support to 1AF Nigeria leadershipdecision-making, and act as the primary facilitator for the Country Crisis Management Team.
- Develop relationships with local security contacts and independently expand the network of information sources.
- Be the primary responder to security incidents involving staff during office hours, and escalating incident response management to leadership when needed.
Government Compliance Support:
- Track and renew licenses and permits required for our operations, with support from the GR Analyst.
- Prepare for and manage government officials during inspection visits and compliance checks.
- Research policies, regulations, programs, and political developments relevant to field operations.
Community Outreach projects:
- Host important partner events (e.g. field visits) and oversee participation in agricultural shows and other external events. Ensure safety measures and government protocols are observed at all hosted events.
- Design and run scalable community engagement programs to build our brand presence and help us improve our success rate with farmers as we grow.

Job Title: Nigeria Data Coordinator

About the Role
- One Acre Fund is a data-driven environment that invests heavily in quality systems to answer the most important questions facing our organization. We always aim to create more impact to farmers who participate in our program and this is made possible by an efficient and creative Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) department.
- The MEL Coordinator will support the department by creating high-quality surveys in CommCare, ensuring high-quality data, and assisting with data cleaning and analysis tasks.
- The MEL Coordinator will communicate with the field team to solve technical survey challenges and work with office-based staff to support the development and implementation of MEL systems and quality reports.
Responsibilities
Data Quality:
- Conduct weekly error checking analysis for all ongoing surveys
- Keep a running error tracker and communicate with the field team to understand and correct errors
- Analyze back check data and communicate results to the field team to help improve data quality
- Communicate error check and backcheck results to the field team and management to improve data quality
Survey Design in CommCare:
- Design all surveys in CommCare and ensure all data quality controls (display conditions, validation conditions, warning messages) are in place before the start of each survey
- Work with department leadership to ensure that all survey protocols are implemented in CommCare
- Test all surveys before data collection
- Respond to feedback from the field team and improve CommCare surveys based on challenges during survey implementation
- Troubleshoot CommCare challenges, including case management issues
- Stay up-to-date with CommCare features, and ensure surveys incorporate all needed features for maximum efficiency and high data quality
Data Cleaning & Analysis:
- Perform data cleaning for core surveys in Stata; maintain well-documented do-files
- Analyze quantitative summary statistics in Exceland/orStata and prepare results tables for results communication
- Conduct routine data analysis on transportation fees and other budgetary items
- Perform qualitative data analysis of focus group and interview transcripts
Track Performance:
- Maintain the MEL team's goals Tracker: keep track of survey completion rates, back check completion rates, and survey errors and corrections
- Compile andsynthesizedata from JG1 & JG2 performance reviews
- Keep track of inventory and resolve technical problems with tablets
- Translate and back-translated surveys; occasionally translatequalitative and quantitativedata and results
- Other tasks needed by the department

Qualifications

- Two years minimum practical experience working on data collection in a rural setting.
- Understanding of best practices in experimental design concepts, such as control group selection and randomization.

- Educational background in statistics, economics, population studies, development studies, monitoring and evaluation, project management or any other relevant field of study with an understanding ofquantitative and qualitative research.
- Fluency in Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), specifically:
- Design basic data-entry spreadsheets (can perform complex functions) in "database format" (observations horizontally across, 1 variable per column) with useful data validation.

- Conduct analysis using statistics, logic, and validation formulae.
- Experience creating survey tools for field data collection and managing a field-based research team.
- Knowledge of electronic data collection platforms (e.g. ODK, SurveyCTO, CommCare).
- Preferably experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS, Stata, or R.
- Experience mentoring others to support their professional development.

About the Role
- We are looking for a motivated project analyst to join our our Strategic Projects team sitting in the Rwanda Strategy & Finance department.
- You will work on short-medium term projects across multiple functions to solve complex operational, strategic and financial problems to increase farmer impact, improve operations and achieve higher sustainability. You will be creating structure out of ambiguity.
- With so many varied projects, no day is ever the same, and the role includes exposure to high-level strategy, working within different departments, and getting into the field.
- You will report to the Strategic Projects Manager and take on full ownership of projects, from planning, through to execution and follow-up, often working directly with project partners, including sometimes the Country/Deputy-Country Directors.
- The projects will vary depending on program priorities and project complexities, but you will manage anywhere from 2-5 projects at any given time, and are expected to handle any type of project – from quantitative modelling to primary research – with a focus of analyzing and solving the problem at hand.
- You may be asked to take on direct management responsibilities within our growing team of analysts. Longer-term, there will also be opportunities to lead increasingly large projects or join/lead a department you are supporting.
