Career Openings at Bingham University, 28th January, 2019
Bingham University, Karu was established by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) following its formal licensing by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 5th January, 2005. As the name implies, the University was named after one of the trio of pioneer Sudan Interior Missionaries, Roland Victor Bingham whose vision along with those of other founding fathers desired to produce committed Christians in our institutions, including the University through which Christ-centred leaders would emerge.
The posts of some Principal Officers of the University are currently vacant. In accordance with the provision of Bingham University Law, we invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:
Job Title: University Librarian
Location: Nasarawa
The Job
- The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the provision of Library services in the University and its constituent Departments and Campuses.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates applying for the position of the University Librarian must possess the following:
- Ph.D in Library Science or in Library and Information Science
- Considerable academic publications
- At least 10 years relevant working experience in a Tertiary Institution, preferably in a recognized University
- Be a registered member of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)
- Must be of the equivalent rank of Principal Librarian or Senior Lecturer in the University system.
Conditions of Service
- The appointment for the post of University Librarian will be for a single term of five years only
- The conditions of service would be as applicable in the Nigerian University system and as determined by Council from time to time
- The applicant must not-be more than 55 years of age at the time of application.
Job Title: Bursar
Location: Nasarawa
The Job
- The Bursar shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates applying for the position of Bursar must possess the following:
- A good honours First Degree in Accounting and membership of a professional body such as: ICAN/ANAN/ACA/ACCA/ACMA
- At least 10 years relevant working experience in a recognized institution of higher learning, and must have attained the rank of a Deputy Bursar
- Sufficient knowledge of ICT is required.

Job Title: Registrar
Location: Nassarawa
The Job
- The Registrar, who is the Chief Administrative Officer and one of the Principal Officers of the University, shall be responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University
- By virtue of his/her office, he/she shall be the Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a good honours First Degree in Humanities or related disciplines. Possession of relevant Postgraduate Degree would be an added advantage
- Registration with professional bodies is required (such as ANUPA, NIM, CIA, and other professional bodies).
- Candidates are expected to have served for at least 10 years in sufficiently senior administrative cadre including as Deputy Registrar in the University system or in comparable establishments
- Suitable candidates are expected to be knowledgeable about the operations of the University system and competent to advise and take executive action on matters of planning, design and management in realization of the cardinal objectives of teaching, research and community service
- Sufficient knowledge of ICT required.
