We are recruiting to fill the vacant position below:     Job Title: Construction Supervisor - Mechanical/Piping Location: Bonny Island, Rivers The Job

  • To execute assigned Mechanical/Piping construction activities for the CAPEX Plant Project Development, in accordance with approved project management procedures, ensuring HSE, quality, schedule and budget standards are met in a controlled, transparent and auditable manner
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Carry out and supervise the construction of the Strategic Value Identification (Pre-FID) and Value Realization (post-FID) processes of allocated mechanical/piping engineering Plant projects, including constructability reviews, in accordance with the approved Project Management Procedures, while ensuring proper authorizations to achieve project delivery within approved project scope, HSE, quality, schedule and construction budget
  • Develop Construction Risk Assessment of assigned Mechanical/Piping projects aligned with the Project Risk Assessment to identify and assess risks, ISSUES and uncertainties associated with implementing the specific project and implement the Construction Risk Management Plan and mitigation strategies for assigned projects under consideration.
  • Implement the Mechanical/Piping Engineering Construction Management Plan (for Shutdown and non-Shutdown related projects), including commissioning and start up plans, spare part recommendations, training requirements, start up assistance for specialized equipment, etc. in order to ensure appropriate construction delivery, flawless start up and handover to the Business Owner or Asset Holder.
  • Develop project execution plan for all projects assigned in line with client procedures
  • Apply the HSE and Quality Management Plan for assigned Mechanical/Piping engineering construction activities and ensure adherence to the Project Quality Management System to achieve quality delivery of projects, and carry Out, where required, construction changes, deviations and queries in accordance with the Change Management Processes
  • Supervise the Stakeholder Management Plan and submit timely construction progress reports for assigned projects for effective communication and seamless construction delivery.
  • Generate and ensure complete closure of Punch List items, timely handover of documentation of completed projects.
Requirements The right candidate should:
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5-7 years post-graduation experience, out of which minimum of 3 years should have been spent in project engineering or construction activities in the oil & gas industry.

  • Initiate, plan and execute approved portfolio of Plant Process projects to agreed standards (Cost, Schedule, Quality), ready to operate as defined In each project’s Final Investment Decision while meeting clients Goal Zero HSE Objectives.
  • Scope includes all activities to initiate the projects, progress through the various Decision Gates, obtain FID, execute, commission and close out the projects
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following
  • Adopt and apply standard project management tools and techniques, including supporting resources, to accurately scope, plan, cost, execute and control projects to meet approved objectives as in the FID. Contribute to the evolution of standardised work processes, tools, best practices, repeatable solutions and synergies between all projects in the portfolio and across the Projects Delivery group.
  • Participate in the process of identifying, screening, planning, prioritisation and approval of the plant’s investment program, including capital allocation and all related governance accountabilities
  • Manage relationships with external stakoholders, including senior management, and NLNG Board sub-committees as appropriate, National regulatory bodies, NGOs, the host communities etc to ensure all required approvals and permits are delivered timely
  • Implement the approved Operations Readiness and Assurance process to ensure from project initiation, that all projects are delivered ready to operate safely and reliably
  • Manage own projects’ portfolio in line with, and contribute to maintaining the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System in place
The Person The right candidate should:
  • B.Sc. in Engineering discipline
  • 5 -7 years post-graduation experience, out of which minimum of 2 years should have been spent in project engineering / design/ construction activities in the oil & gas industry.

    Job Title: Construction Supervisor - Civil Location: Bonny Island, Rivers The Job
  • Execute Construction (Civil) activities of Plant or Infrastructure projects in the approved portfolio to agreed standards (Cost. Schedule, and Quality), ready to operate as defined in each projects Final Investment Decision while meeting Clients Goal Zero HSE Objectives
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Implement approved constructability report, in accordance with the Client approved Project Management Procedures, while ensuring proper authorizations to achieve project delivery within the approved scope, HSE, quality, schedule and budget.
  • Apply approved Construction Risk Assessment and ISSUES register aligned with the Project Risk Assessment to identify and assess risks and uncertainties associated with implementing the specific project and also apply approved Construction Risk Management Plan and mitigation strategies for projects under consideration.
  • Monitor Risks and Issues register towards ensuring projects are in line with promises made.
  • Apply HSE & Quality Management Processes for construction activities and ensure adherence to the Project Quality Management System by applying approved Client Procedures, Standards and Specifications, as well as relevant Design Engineering Practices (DEPs) to achieve quality delivery of projects, and manage construction changes, deviations and queries in accordance with the Change Management Processes.
  • In conjunction with Contractors and Project Leaders, develop materials list and ensure that all materials used for construction are of adequate standard according to specifications.
  • Ensure all relevant permits to work are in place and works are executed in accordance with the permit requirement.
  • Monitor contract of a performance based on schedule delivery and fashion ways of recovery when not in line with promises made.
  • Participate In commissioning and start up plans, spare part recommendations, start-up assistance for specialized equipment, etc., in order to ensure a flawless start-up and handover to the Business Owner or Asset Holder.
  • Generate and ensure complete closure of Punch List items, including Marked-up As Built Drawings / Documentation and carry Out Construction Performance Post Implementation Review and produce Lessons Learned and Close out Reports.

  • HND, B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline

  • To drive and support the operationalisation of en effective HSE Management System & risk controls and provide complete USE support to NLNG’s Project Organisation to enable the Front-End, Execution end Major Projects contractors to effectively implement all E critical processes & integrated Safe Systems of Work (ISSOW) at the coalface” resulting in an injury and loss free on time, schedule and on quality Project delivery
The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Support the implementation of Integrated Safe System of Work (JUA, TBT, LOTO. CSE, Unsafe Acts Auditing HSEW, PSFO, etc) in activities’ sites to entrench best practice USE culture, save lives and prevent major accidents
  • Drive the operationalization of an OUSAS 18001 and USSE Control Framework compliant level-1HSEManagement System (HSE-MS) and USE Case in all activities within the site areas with the ultimate objective of ensuring no harm to people safety tools (TBT, Dynamic Risk Assessment, Pause for Safety etc) to improve overall safety culture among all contractors on frontline activities within respective areas.
  • Support departments in providing required USE oversight during the execution phase of all activities in the work areas, and also ensure contracts are in line with applicable Contractor USE Management Standards, ensuring full understanding of contracts execution USE requirements at the frontline.
  • Provide required support to USE incident owners, ensuring incidents are reported and investigated in line with approved procedure.
  • Drive the Implementation of Hazards Identification Awareness campaigns and strategy to entrenchment of acceptable USE culture among the personnel working within the facility.
The Person The right candidate should:
  • A University degree preferably in Engineering or Physical Sciences
  • Professional qualification such as NEBOSH, IDipOSH, IDipSM, or equivalent NISP Level 3 will be added advantage.
  • Not less than 5 years post graduate working experience, which a minimum of 2 years should have been spent in a similar position or handle similar responsibility in a reputable Oil and Gas Organization.
